Introduction

I had thought of writing just a little book to help new converts in my outreaches, conferences and crusades, but the more I prayed and wrote, the more the Holy Spirit inspired me to write.

This book, though originally written for new converts, is highly recommended for all believers in Jesus Christ as the thoughts presented herein are capable of launching anyone to a higher realm of intimacy and fellowship with the Lord.

The Lord has faithfully and gently led me to specific topics and materials in writing this book. I earnestly prayed from the beginning of this work that the Holy Spirit would inspire my heart, give me His thoughts and guide me to specific areas and topics He'd want me to cover according to His divine will, and He has done just that.

I honestly and humbly testify that the thoughts presented in this book are as inspired by the Lord through His precious Holy Spirit, and they are consistent with the truths of the gospel as revealed in scriptures. These are not just my thoughts or ideas. They are inspired by the Lord. I, therefore, send this book with deep prayers and desires that through the thoughts presented here, you will have a fresh and new encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ, grow in intimacy with Him through the ministry of the Holy Ghost, and enjoy and communicate the fullness of the blessings of the gospel.

My major purpose for writing this book is to espouse people to Jesus Christ by helping them walk in greater intimacy and fellowship with Him. I love Jesus with all my heart and will spend this life doing nothing else but to share Him with the whole world, so that people will not just hear or learn about Him, but more importantly, experience Him.

My particular calling in the gospel is to communicate the love of God to all peoples of the earth in demonstrations of the Spirit and power; transforming nations and people. I pursue and fulfil this divine vision by proclaiming the love of God in the finished work of Jesus Christ. This book, therefore, is written in obedience to God and in pursuant of His calling on my life.

Lastly beloved, I commend you to God and to the word of His grace, which is able to build you up and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified. I also commend you to the ministry of the Holy Spirit who is able to teach you all things, reveal hidden secrets (even the deep things of God), guide you into all the truths and show you things to come.

Section One

The Perfect Atonement

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.

Romans 5:11 (emphasis mine)

The good news of the gospel is that God has reconciled the world to Himself through the offering and sacrifice of His beloved Son, Jesus Christ. Just anyone can now draw near to God through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Christ has taken the place of the whole human race in sin and was punished on their behalf so that those who believe in His redemptive work can enjoy intimate relationships with God and enjoy the blessings of His presence. Jesus Christ is our peace.

For our sake, He made Christ [virtually] to be sin Who knew no sin, so that in and through Him we might become [endued with, viewed as being in, and examples of] the righteousness of God [what we ought to be, approved and acceptable and in right relationship with Him, by His goodness.]

2 Corinthians 5:21 AMP

When we speak of the perfect atonement of the Lord Jesus Christ, we mean His complete and finished redemptive sacrifice. His sacrifice is so finished and complete that He fully satisfied God's righteous demand and justice against sin in just one sacrifice. His blood was more than enough to obtain full and eternal redemption for all mankind.

His sacrifice was perfect because Jesus was and is the very Son of God in truth. He was conceived by the power of the Holy Ghost, not of blood, nor the will of the flesh, nor the will of man, but God. He lived a sinless life before God and man and became the progenitor of a new race of righteous people. He fulfilled the law and the commandments of God through His sinless humanity.

Like a lamb without a spot, He lived unto God and demonstrated the life that pleases and honours God. He was offered on the cross as a sacrifice to take away our sins and obtain our reconciliation with God. Through His sacrifice, we have been brought near to God having been forgiven of all trespasses and cleansed from all iniquity. He died our deaths (spiritual and physical) and freed us from the consequences and penalties of our sins.

But more importantly, He rose again from the dead to give us a new life. The Bible declares that having died with Him through our faith in His substitutionary work, we have also been raised with Him in His resurrection so that we can now walk and live in the reality of the new life in Him.

His resurrection perfected, completed and finished His sacrifice. For whereas He died to obtain forgiveness for our sins, He rose again to obtain justification for us. His resurrection was the proof that God fully accepted His sacrifice for us, and based on that, we are justified (discharged and acquitted) of all sins. Had Jesus not risen from the dead, His death on the cross would have been useless.

The perfect atonement of the Lord Jesus is the message of His death for our sins and His subsequent resurrection for our justification.

Please follow me as we take a journey through the scriptures to learn one or two things along the line of the perfect atonement we now have through the finished work of Jesus Christ, the Son of the Living God.
