INTRODUCTION
Have you ever sat back and wondered what the purpose of your life is? Or how many people you know of, have done this at some point in their lives? Our purpose sets the foundation for our goals and dreams, it’s the energy that drives us towards achieving our aims, and it’s what defines our actions.
For some people, the purpose of life is to serve God and His beings, while for others, it may be becoming rich and famous; whatever the case may be, if a person his true to himself and is not easily influenced by his surroundings, his life purpose is demonstrated by his everyday actions. A person trying to please God will spend most of his time indulging in religious acts and serving His beings. On the other hand, a person determined to become rich and famous would continuously strive for it. However, while choosing our purpose, we must be extremely careful; not because we might fail in achieving it, but because everything comes with a price.
In order to fulfill each one of our dream or goal, we must give up something else. A person who chooses to achieve fame and wealth must be prepared to give up some other thing, possibly his family or friends.
But what happens once this purpose is fulfilled? What happens when a person achieves fame and wealth? Does he become truly happy? As Jim Vector once said, I figure everyone ought to get rich and famous and do everything they at any point dreamed of so they can see that it’s not the appropriate response.
Keeping this in mind, think for a second – is all the wealth and fame really worth it?
Through this book, this is exactly what I aim to help you with – to motivate you to reevaluate your life, your purpose, and your goals.
As the saying from ‘Mysterious’ goes, Human life is simply a matter of choosing what’s critical to you.
Decide what you want to do, and start working towards your goal immediately. Those who keep waiting for the right time are actually fooling themselves. There is no such thing as the right time or the right resources – all that matters is your determination to pursue your goal. Had Bill Gates been waiting for the right time, we wouldn’t be blessed with what is probably the century’s most amazing technological invention. People like him did not have huge sums of money, but they had the passion to succeed – and they did.
Chapter One
KNOWLEDGE
C:\Users\Bisma\Downloads\Attachment_1549684388.jpegEach one of us has heard the phrase Knowledge is Power
. Indeed, knowledge is what gives us power. But what exactly is power? Power is the ability to make someone do something which they wouldn’t otherwise do. A person who has knowledge has this ability. He knows how to get things done – be it by motivating someone, or manipulating them.
Nowadays, people tend to think that power comes from money. A person who has money has the ability to control everything, which is almost true – except that you cannot control nature with money. Surely, a person with money can bribe people to make them do what he wants, but he cannot stop the doings of nature. However, with the right knowledge, you can work around nature and also use the money to your maximum benefit. Money is just a tool, while knowledge is like a river that keeps flowing on and on.
We must also not forget that in certain situations, money is of no use to us. Consider this example: you decide to leave Earth and shift to Mars. Will all your money and Earthly belonging be of any use there? No, but what will actually be of use is knowledge. If you have the know-how of surviving on Mars, you’ll most certainly be able to do it.
So, what exactly is knowledge? The word knowledge is derived from to know
. When you type the word knowledge on Google, you’ll see hundreds of thousands of different definitions, but all of them have a common meaning, that is, information and awareness obtained through education or experience.
Knowledge forms the basis of belief. This is why people believe in God, even though they have never seen Him. They believe in the presence of God because of the information provided to them in the form of religious scriptures, and from religious scholars. Similarly, most of us believe that Earth is constantly revolving around the Sun, and this is because we have logical proof to back this.
Now one must wonder, how do you acquire knowledge? Does it mean using up all your resources and traveling all over the world to obtain facts and figures? Or does it mean devoting all your time to read books, research papers, etc.?
In reality, knowledge can be acquired in many different ways. The first and foremost way of obtaining knowledge is through Induction or Empirical Analysis. In simple words, this refers to obtaining knowledge through closely observing things; thus, it is also referred to as observational knowledge. Empiricism, a theory based on this channel of knowledge, states that a person acquires all his knowledge through what he experiences derived from the senses. This means that you gain knowledge through what you see, hear, smell, taste, or come in contact with. Empiricism is commonly used as a tool in logical experimentation.
However, this theory is not entirely true. This is because if a person relies on his senses only, he will only gain a limited amount of knowledge. Such a person won’t be open to learning and
