Introduction
During the next ten days, you will learn to break your identification with emotional trauma by restoring your original consciousness, the essential nature of who you are. Your original consciousness precedes any circum- stances, beliefs, or learned experiences that could be determinant factors of your personality.
When a traumatic event occurs, you experience a chemical reaction in your brain and body that causes the crystallization, or impression, of a perception. This impression can have many consequences: It becomes a defining factor of your personality and behavior, and it creates psycho- somatic patterns of cellular communication that end up affecting your physical body functions, all of which could entail a number of negative ramifications.
Traumatic experiences affect your perception of identity, making you feel that you somehow are your circumstances. And although difficult circum- stances could impart important learning experiences, when you are unable to internalize them as such, you begin to create negative identities.
With these guided exercises to break your identification with trauma, all of the beneficial aspects of the learning experiences that you have already internalized as positive will continue to be part of you, and those harmful elements that are projecting themselves as defining of your identity will be released.
