Restore: To bring back to or put back into a former or original state¹
God is in the business of RESTORATION!
Have you ever felt abandoned, broken or damaged? If so, for whatever has been lost in your life, my prayer is that this Bible study will remind you that God is a God of restoration. He is able to restore what has been lost or stolen from you. He wants to make the words of the prophet Joel a reality in your life, so that you can declare the Lord your God has dealt wondrously with you.
And you shall eat in plenty and be satisfied and praise the name of the Lord, your God, Who has dealt wondrously with you. And My people shall never be put to shame.
(Joel 2:26 )
Countless numbers of people, Christians included, need restoration. The devastation that can occur in a person’s life can be so great that it takes a great restorer to heal what has been broken. I know this on a personal level.
Over the past several years, the Lord has been healing me greatly and enabling me to finally live the abundant life that He promises. John 10:10 says, The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, His life and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).
I am amazed at what God is doing to restore what was stolen from me.
My childhood was very unstable because of a continuously changing home environment. My parents’ marriage did not last long. They were married young, divorced when I was two years old, and did not serve the Lord. After that, my mother married and divorced several more times before she finally turned to the Lord.
According to 2 Corinthians 5:17, we are a new creation when we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior. It says the old version of ourselves is completely gone and we are new creatures in Christ Jesus.
