    From the early days of Islam and the prophet Muhammad’s teachings, Muslims began living and preaching a faith that aspires to conquer other geographical regions and nonbelievers. One traditional tenet of the Muslim faith still practiced today, jihad or holy war, that many faithful interpret as an encouragement through the word of Allah to kill nonbelievers. This has led to the formation of many terrorist organizations and to countless acts of terrorism over the centuries and into the present. Several extremist groups of Muslims, such as al Qaeda, the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the Muslim Brotherhood, share the belief that they are ushering in the time preceding Judgment Day, when nonbelievers of Allah will see a violent end.
