The elevator door was pulled open and LaSalle looked up to find the smiling face of Carl peering down to greet him.

Hey, LaSalle? How's it hangin’?

LaSalle lowered his head. Shaking it. Defeated.

LaSalle angry walking up to the lobby desk being followed by Carl. LaSalle placed his hands on the counter leaning into the weary-eyed attendant behind the cage.
