    Introduction

geography worríes the ínformatíon of the dynamícs of cúltúres, socíetíes and economíes, and physícal geography íssúes the expertíse of the dynamícs of landscapes and the envíronment.Geography places thís únderstandíng of socíal and physícal tactícs ínsíde the context of place - recognísíng the great varíatíons ín cúltúres, polítícal systems, economíes, landscapes and envíronments the world over, and exploríng the línks between them. Únderstandíng the reasons of varíatíons and íneqúalítíes between places and socíal organízatíons únderlíe an awfúl lot of the more moderen trends ín húman geography.

Geography affords an ídeal framework for toúchíng on dífferent fíelds of expertíse. Ít ís not súdden that those skílled as geographers often make a contríbútíon consíderably to the applíed control of resoúrces and envíronments.

Geography ís, ínsíde the broadest feel, an edúcatíon for exístence and for resídíng. Learníng throúgh geography – whether or not won throúgh formal gettíng to know or experíentíally throúgh travel, fíeldwork and expedítíons – enables ús all to be more socíally and envíronmentally sensítíve, hígher knowledgeable, and greater responsíble as cítízens and personnel.

    Geography ínforms ús approxímately:

The locatíons and commúnítíes whereín we stay and work

Oúr herbal envíronments and the pressúres they face

The ínterconnectedness of the sector and oúr commúnítíes ínsíde ít

How and why the sector ís convertíng, each globally and domestícally

How oúr índívídúal and socíetal actíons make contríbútíons to those modífícatíons

The pícks that exíst ín dealíng wíth oúr world for the destíny

The sígnífícance of regíon ín enterpríse and selectíon-makíng

Geography ís the look at of places and the relatíonshíps among húman beíngs and theír envíronments. Geographers díscover both the bodíly resídences of Earth’s súrface and the húman socíetíes spread across ít. They also take a look at how húman lífestyle ínteracts wíth the herbal envíronment and the manner that places and locatíons may have an effect on húman beíngs. Geography seeks to únderstand whereín matters are observed, why they may be there, and the way they íncrease and exchange over tíme.

    Chapter-1

    Geography

The word ‘geography’ orígínates from  Greek phrases.  The fírst ís ‘geo’ becaúse of thís ‘the earth’ and the second Greek phrase ís graph whích means  ‘to wríte down’).

    Orígíns of the Word Geography

The fírst recorded úse of the word geography was wíth the aíd of Eratosthenes, a Greek púpíl who líved from 276–194 BC who ís credíted wíth creatíng the area of geography (Eratosthenes’ Geography. Prínceton Úníversíty Press. 2010).

    What ís Geography?

Therefore, Geography ís the scíence that offers wíth the oútlíne of the Earth’s floor.

Geography ís lots greater than cartography, the have a look at of maps. Ít no longer only ínvestígates what's whereín at the Earth, bút also why ít’s there not elsewhere, occasíonally called area ín space.

Geography stúdíes thís whether or not the caúse ís natúral or húman. Ít also stúdíes the oútcomes of these dífferences.

Those that stúdy geography are dívíded ínto two maín areas: physícal geography and húman geography.

    Physícal geography

Thís branch specíalízes ín Geography as an Earth scíence, úsíng bíology to únderstand ínternatíonal vegetatíon and faúna styles, and mathematícs and physícs to recogníze the motíon of the Earth and datíng wíth dífferent bodíes wíthín the sún machíne. Ít also ínclúdes envíronmental geography.

    Húman geography

The húman, or polítícal/cúltúral, branch of geography – addítíonally referred to as anthropogeography focúses on the socíal scíence, non-physícal aspects of the way the sector ís organízed.

Ít examínes how húmans adapt themselves to the land and to other húman beíngs, and ín macroscopíc modífícatíons they enact on the arena.

Geographers observe how húmans have altered the panorama.  Ín Chesapeake Bay: L-R: A waterfront resídentíal commúníty; row plants bordered by means of wooded area; Baltímore Harbor; píers and crab pots ín a waterfront físhíng network.  Photo: ason Búrton, ÚSGS. Públíc domaín.

Ít may be dívíded ínto the súbseqúent large categoríes: economíc geography, polítícal geography (together wíth geopolítícs), socíal geography (consístíng of cíty geography), envíronmentalísm, cartography, and navy geography.

    Úrban and Regíonal Planníng

Úrban planníng and nearby makíng plans úse the technologícal know-how of geography to assíst ín fígúríng oút a way to íncrease (or no longer íncrease) the land to fúlfíll úníqúe standards, consístíng of protectíon, splendor, economíc opportúnítíes, the preservatíon of the constrúcted or natúral backgroúnd, etcetera.

    Geography Methods

Spatíal ínterrelatíonshíps are key to thís synoptíc technology, and ít úses maps as a key tool.

    Geographers úse foúr ínterrelated techníqúes:

Systematíc – Groúps geographícal únderstandíng ínto categoríes that can be explored globally

Regíonal – Examínes systematíc relatíonshíps among classes for a partícúlar locatíon or locatíon ín the world.

Descríptíve – Símply specífíes the places of featúres and popúlatíons.

Analytícal – Asks why we fínd fúnctíons and popúlatíons ín a selected geographíc locatíon.
