The Genesis Chronicles - Johnnie R. Jones

    GENESIS 1

"I f you are hearing this, then you are an adam—one of many adams… Adamkind. Be still and focus on what you are hearing while you read. Listen, observe, and comprehend within your mind as I reveal the genesis of all substance. Understand what I speak, for I am your Creator. I am your life. My name is Yah, the holy and Almighty God. Obey My words and you will live. I am the eternal Word, the Wisdom of God. Ignore what I say at your own peril.

"I am Yah, but also called Elohim, which means plural in thought and presence, majestic and almighty, everlasting. Adamkind, behold and discern the power of creation when I speak.

From nothing, I call into existence. Heaven and Earth come forth!

I listened and wrote while peering into nothing—a black hole. Then Yah revealed to me portions of an enormous unfolding of creation’s history. From nothing, sounds emitted—loud, cracking sounds. My body jerked like I was in the path of a dangerous object. Yet nothing moved except me. These were the beginning sounds of creation, the forming of the heavens and the earth. The air filled with moisture around me. The cracking sounds increased, like the great rumblings of an earthquake, yet darkness remained. I strained my eyes, but I could not see anything except that which was before me: a table, writing utensils, and a torch. Amid this genesis revelation, I reclaimed my courage and carefully penned Yah’s words by the light of a torch and the light of His presence.

Adamkind, Yah said. The earth is yet unformed—void. But listen… do you hear and smell that which is in darkness?

    Moisture entered my nostrils.

"It is water, the face of the deep, that it may reflect what you see. And from this deep darkness I create.

Spirit of Elohim, brood over the waters. Nestle close to it and incubate.

Sounds emitted over the face of the deep. The waters responded to the Spirit’s brooding. Nothing could be seen, for His Spirit was invisible. Yet I sensed Him everywhere, including within me.

    Light, come forth.

Like a flash of lightning, the brilliance exploded before me, impaling the darkness. At first, I shielded my eyes, blinded by the light.

Set a boundary between light and darkness—let them be distinguishable from each other. And it was so.

Light shall be called ‘Day’. Darkness shall be called ‘Night’. Time limits are placed upon you both. Every day begins in darkness and ends in darkness. Evening and morning shall introduce each separation. This is now the First Day, and it is good.

I wrote quickly but carefully, praying Yah would give me time to pen His words. He waited.

Now I call forth a firmament—a large expanse—to separate the waters.

Light revealed a mist expanding from the deep waters, creating a separation of waters—water in layers beneath and water in layers above. Moisture everywhere.

That which is above, I call you heaven. Once again, evening and morning have passed. This is Day Two—a good day.

Yes, it took an entire day. The moisture was dense at earth’s surface, yet the moisture thinned into layers while it advanced higher above the surface. The thinnest was breathable—what is called air—layers of air, thinnest in the highest of the heavens.

I, Elohim, say to the waters of the deep, gather in places as My Spirit broods over you, drying up space between you—space that I call land, covered in soil and rocks—a place for more creation. Large bodies of water, I call you seas.

And Elohim—the Almighty God—said, It is good.

Land bring forth grass and vegetation, herbs and with it seeds, and trees producing fruit with its seeds. Subdue the earth with kind after kind, each bearing seeds that produces its kind.

I beheld and all land was covered with life-giving vegetation of all sorts and sizes. The life of the earth seemed to reach upward toward the heavens. Light and moisture also caused a reaction from the plants and trees.

I like what I see, Yah said. This is good.

Another evening and a morning transpired with the creation of the seas, land, and vegetation—Day Three upon the earth.

Let there be objects of lights in the expanse to separate light from darkness—day from night. Let these luminaries be guides to measure days, seasons, and years.

Before me, light formed—layers upon layers—until its beams bent toward one giant ball of light, ruling above the heavens and infiltrating the land and seas. The moisture reacted to the rays emitting from the ball of light, creating an invisible movement of the air—wind.

I also beheld a lesser luminary for the night. It reflected the light of the giant ball of light. Yah called the greater luminary the sun, and the lesser one the moon. And then there were stars twinkling through the heavens like light against the darkness.

I like what I see, Yah said. "This is good. The moon and the sun will forever mark the night and day. This evening and morning are Day Four.

"Day Five, from evening to day, I call forth from the deep myriads of life-breathing sea creatures, both great and small. Fill the seas and reproduce.

"Heaven, be filled with life-breathing flying creatures, both great and small. Reproduce, kind after its kind. I bless the living creatures—life creating life. This is good.

Land, bring forth life-breathing creatures, large and small. Creatures in herds, beasts throughout the earth, and that which creeps low in the vegetation, I call on you to reproduce—kind after its kind. This is good.

While I wrote this down, there was a pause in the creative acts of Yah. I sat and waited for the next act. Suddenly, the light of Yah’s presence focused on a small parcel of soil. The wind blew in circles around it. When it blew, its strength pushed the vegetation away, revealing a damp and brownish-red soil. All land creatures and the fowls of the air drew back from this area. I waited and watched.

I, Elohim, call on Us. Let Us create adam, male and female, in Our image, after Our likeness. Adamkind shall have dominion over all sea creatures, all flying creatures, and all land creatures. All the works of My creation, adam shall oversee.

I sat in awe while the Spirit formed the first adam—that is, man. The first man, Adam—his name aptly chosen—lay there motionless, crafted by Yah from the dry yet moist soil. While he lay, the noise of air encircled Adam, yet the vegetation and trees did not move. It was the breath of Yah Himself encircling Adam. It blew into his nostrils, creating movement from within the body—a living soul. Adam slowly arched and bent his limbs, standing, fully functional in the image and likeness of his Creator.

Then Yah spoke. I bless the adams, male and female. Reproduce and subdue earth. Rule over all living creatures of the seas, the heavens, and land. Look around you and claim all the herbs, vegetation, and fruits as food for your life. These shall be food for all living creatures.

Wonder of wonders! Adam slowly turned his head and observed all the creation around him. Then he raised his hand, worked each finger separately, and pressed several fingernails. He placed his hand on his chin and slowly slid it up to his hair, tracing the contour of his face. Next, he lowered his head and observed his feet. He raised a foot and took a step, maintaining his balance. Then he bent his knees and knelt to the ground. When he did, he lifted his hands toward the heavens and spoke.

Elohim, my God and my Creator, I worship You. You alone are worthy of my worship. All that I am or ever shall be is that Your glory be manifested in me.

Yah observed man and listened to him. He saw all that He had created and said, This is very good.

And the evening and morning completed Day Six—six unique days of the formation of Yah’s creation. Six days of eternal glory.

I fell to my knees in deep worship to the splendor of all I witnessed from Yah, the Elohim of all creation. Yah, I said. Before anything formed—the faintest glimmering star, the greatest of earth’s mountains, and her deepest sea—You are Yah, the Lord God, the Creator, the great I Am.

    GENESIS 2

After a few hours of worship and replenishing my strength, I continued writing Yah’s summation of creation.

I, Elohim, have completed the creation of the heavens, the earth, and all that occupies them. But there is yet another evening and morning—a Seventh Day—a day that I appoint for rest. I bless this day and set it apart from all other days—a day to celebrate creation and the Creator.

Yah then embodied the shape of a man and walked with Adam. He introduced to Adam all of creation and its usefulness.

It is beautiful, Adam said while he rubbed some of the plants and tree leaves. And how will these replenish themselves?

Do you feel the moisture in the air?

Adam inhaled deeply. Yes, he said, exhaling slowly.

Yah pointed upward. The air’s density shall increase when it interacts with the wind and produce drops of moisture. You will call it rain.

Adam captured a few drops on his hand and rubbed them together. Rain?

"Yes, rain. When the air circulates, its density will ebb and flow with moisture’s correlation to the sun. I will use these combinations and more to sustain life for every plant, tree, and creature.

For you, however, I will be more than Elohim—more than just your Creator. For you will call me Yah.

Yah? Adam asked. What do your names mean?

"Yah refers to my covenant with you. It means I am bound to you in a relationship. You and I possess qualities that are similar. Therefore, we have a relationship.

Elohim is the plurality of natures that I possess. I am the Almighty God—the One who creates within My own power. You see My power to create and you experience Me, as Yah, because I walk with you and talk with you. I relate to you differently than all of My creation because I love Adamkind.

    Love? Adam asked. Please explain.

"I can only explain love in part, for it must be experienced to know it fully. But for now, understand that to love Me is to trust Me. Love for Me is a commitment of obedience for all eternity. My commitment to love you is a commitment of fellowship with you, a commitment from Me to commune with you, and to provide your every need. When we take these walks and talk together, you will discover our likeness of each other and compatibility toward each other.

Adam, I have created you like no other creature. You alone can communicate with Me and relate to Me like no other. I Am who I Am—Yah, the God who is personal and who loves; and Elohim, the Almighty One who creates and sustains.

Adam stopped at several animals standing nearby. He raised his arms, touching each one.

I am different from the other creatures.

Yes, even more than you can see and feel. My Spirit infiltrated your body and I breathed into your life—your senses—a living soul and spirit. Your soul allows you to think with Me and discern concepts that cause you to make decisions for yourself and others. By our spirits, you understand Me and will communicate with Me. You will make decisions—even sacrifices—to please Me and others.

Others? Adam pointed at the animals. Do you speak of the creatures over which I am to rule?

Yah did not answer Adam’s question. Come, let us walk to a special place I wish to reveal to you.

They walked to the area where Adam was first created. The soil had been refashioned in such a way that the various plants were positioned in segregated areas—rows upon rows of herbs, seed-bearing plants, and seed-bearing trees. These produced herbs for seasoning, legumes, vegetables, nuts, and fruit.

"See what I have prepared for you. I have arranged many of My creations as food for you. This is a garden—Eden, the garden of delight. The canopy of atmosphere that regulates temperature and moisture will cause all things to grow well and live in harmony. Earth’s atmosphere, combined with its soil, rocks, and water, will sustain all living things. The herbs, plants, and trees produce their substances for you to eat and enjoy.

Do you feel the warmth of the sun? It emits life-producing rays of energy. The sun’s rays interact with life on earth, regenerating the existence of that which I created.

A large creature stood nearby, eating foliage from the trees.

And what of Your creation that moves and eats like me?

You shall not fear any living creature, but live and eat together in harmony. And when I dwell with you, I will instruct you on how to dwell and counteract with all creation.

Instruct me? Adam smiled and touched the form of Yah. My Lord, it is enough just to be with You.

Yah paused for a moment. Adam, you desire the best part of Me. Your response pleases Me. But there is more to your purpose for which you must learn—much more. Not only of Me, but of the earth and the purpose of your creation…. Adam, there is another force with which you must reckon and subdue.

Adam swung around like he heard someone or something approaching. Tell me, Yah, where is this other force and I will see to it that it bows before you.

At the proper time, Adam. For now, it is enough to know that it exists. There are other matters concerning the earth and its creatures for which I want you involved.

Yah then walked Adam through the garden. First, I want you to learn how to plant and cultivate the garden that all creatures which depend upon it may eat. Observe how the vegetation and trees receive nourishing moisture. From different spouts from the earth, moisture rises and mixes with the air to form rain for the vegetation and trees. You will cultivate the ground to allow moisture to interact with the sun and maintain all the foods of the garden.

The grove of trees in the midst, Adam said while he pointed to them. They also have beautiful nuts and fruits.

Yes, and they will delight you with the sweetest of all My foods. But beware, there is one tree from which you must not eat. The tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Come, and I will show you.

Adam remained silent while they walked among the grove where there were fruit-bearing trees of all kinds.

This is the tree of life. Eat from it regularly, for it will sustain your existence for all eternity.

Near it stood another tree with beautiful fruit.

Adam, look at this tree. Observe it carefully.

Adam reached out to pull one of its fruits from a limb.

No, Adam! Do not touch it. It may look safe, but its fruit contains the knowledge of good and evil. Do not eat from this tree.

Adam lowered his hand from the limb. Yah, why is its fruit forbidden?

I place it here to remind you that those who genuinely love Me will show it by obeying My words. Remember, to love Me is to obey Me. Do you see all the fruit-bearing trees I have given you? Eat from them—eat freely. Enjoy all the others, but the day you disobey Me and eat from this tree is the day you shall surely die.

Adam turned away from the forbidden tree and approached the tree of life. Why would I not obey You?

He then pulled some fruit from the tree of life and resumed his walk with Yah.

The vision stopped and I returned to my current time and place at Sinai. I stood and walked outside my tent and took in the sights of the rugged mountains. Far below me were the tents of my people. I wanted to go and tell them of the things Yah had shown me, but He specifically told me to separate myself for the visions He had prepared. I stretched a little, found some dried meat, manna, and water, and then returned to my tent for further revelations from the Lord.

One day, Yah observed Adam from a distance. He was enjoying the presence of many of the creatures around him. The animals played with Adam, two-by-two, each animal with its like companion. But as the day wore on, the animals left Adam alone, each with its companion. Adam nestled in the grass and gazed into the heavens.

Then Yah spoke to Himself. Man is alone—incomplete. He needs a companion, a helper of like kind. He visited Adam in the cool of the day.

Adam, I want you to enjoy the sweetness of companionship. But first, I wish to bring before you all live creatures to observe and name them. Notice their means and measures for companionship.

Adam spent days watching the parade of animals that the Lord God had created from out of the soil. When each pair marched by, Adam studied them and named them. And though he thoroughly enjoyed the company of Yah’s vast creation, none was comparable to him as a helper—kind after its kind.

Yah approached Adam. You must be tired. Rest in My presence.

It did not take long for Adam to fall asleep. While he slept, Yah caused him to go into an even deeper sleep. Then He opened Adam’s flesh and removed a rib. After He had closed Adam up, Yah took the rib and from it fashioned another adam—a female—comparable to him.

When Adam awakened, he felt different. He sat up and noticed a tear of the flesh on his side. He touched the mended tear. It felt different.

Something is missing. Yah, what has happened?

I removed a part of you—a part near your heart—and from it fashioned for you a helpmate like nothing I have created before. Behold!

At that moment, from behind a bush, the female appeared, fashioned by the hand of the Yah, fashioned from out of Adam.

Adam was speechless. He gazed upon the likeness of a body of his kind, yet extraordinarily different. She walked over to his side, gently touched his scar, and smiled.

Although I imagined his side was tender, Adam did not show any discomfort before her.

Adam touched her. You are smooth, he said. Your shape. It’s different.

She comes from you to become one with you, Yah said. She makes you complete.

Adam observed her from top to bottom. You are indeed bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh. You shall be called Woman, for out of man you came forth.

Yah observed the man and woman while they touched each other and discovered their comparableness.

From this day forth, man and woman shall procreate—kind of their kind—each man joining himself with his chosen woman. Therefore, each man shall leave his father and mother and unite with his wife. And the two shall become one flesh—husband and wife.

Then Yah called out to the man and woman. Come, stand before Me for a moment.

    They respectfully stood before Him.

"Woman, of all I created, you alone were fashioned from a part of man—of Adam. This means you will complement him. Together, you shall complete the full disclosure of Yah Elohim. As you discover each other, you will discover Me fully.

You, Woman, are tender, expressing a beauty and love that shall always draw Adam to you. In your togetherness, you two shall experience the joy of creating other adams—Adamkind. Each child to whom you give birth will carry the sense of My presence. And My presence inside you will reveal My Glory—My glorious presence—My Shekinah.

Adam and Woman enjoyed the beauty of Eden, the place that Yah designed especially for food and habitation. Adam showed the many plants and herbs to her, explaining all the differences and values each contained.

In the grove of trees, at the center of the garden, Adam revealed the tree of life. Together, they ate of it.

This is delicious, Woman said. Full of sweetness. Then she walked over to the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And this fruit looks very tasty.

No! Adam cried. You mustn’t look upon that tree’s fruit. Don’t even touch it.

She stepped back and appeared shaken by Adam’s abruptness. He came to her and held her momentarily.

Yah says this is the only tree that we mustn’t eat of its fruit. He says it will reveal to us the knowledge of good and evil—things unnecessary for our wellbeing.

Woman sat down with Adam by both trees. Why would God create such a beautiful fruit-bearing tree and not allow us to eat from it?

It is to test our commitment to Him. He desires obedience from us to show our expression of love to Him.

She gazed at the fruit of the tree of good and evil. Then she turned to Adam, embraced him, and smiled. I will do as you say and show respect to Yah.

    GENESIS 3

Several days later, Adam and Woman came to the grove of trees to cultivate them. Together, they broke the soil and pulled it up to the base of the trees. Woman accidentally stepped on a root near the base of the tree of good and evil. She steadied herself by touching the trunk of the tree.

    She shrieked. Oh no!

Adam stopped and ran over to her. What happened? What did you do?

She clung to him. I lost my balance and touched the forbidden tree.

Adam maneuvered them a couple of steps away from its base. That is when a hissing sound seeped out of the tree. A serpent was nestled among its branches.

See, the serpent said. Yah has not told you everything about this tree or its delicious fruit. I’m touching it. Come closer and observe how it has not affected me.

Who are you? Adam asked. He stepped closer for a look. You are a serpent. I remember naming you, but I don’t recognize your voice.

The serpent ignored Adam and continued talking to the Woman. Look at me. I am one with this tree and I know things that it only possesses.

Woman brushed the soil from her hands and approached the tree, merely glancing at the serpent, but gazing at the tree’s fruit. Yah said we must not eat this tree’s fruit—not even touch it or else we die.

But you did touch it, the serpent said. And yet you live.

I meant the fruit, Adam replied. Don’t touch the fruit.

Woman looked at her hand that had touched the tree’s trunk. It showed no sign of change. She turned and was about to walk back to Adam when the serpent spoke again.

You shall not die. Yah knows that if you partake of this fruit, the eyes of your senses will fully open and you will see like He sees and be more like Him knowing both good and evil.

Adam tore a limb off the tree and held the jagged edge at the serpent’s head. Tell me your name or I will end this conversation now.

I am Lucifer, friend of Yah, and a leader of His kingdom. It is He that sent me here to dwell with you and speak with you.

Adam put pressure between the eyes of the serpent. I don’t believe you. You are saying things contrary to Yah’s commands.

Woman turned her head to the side while Adam spoke. Next to her hung a limb from the forbidden tree—a limb with a piece of fruit within her grasp. She set her gaze upon it and studied the fruit. Then she reached out for it.

Stop! Adam cried. He backed away from Lucifer and dropped the limb. Do not touch that fruit!

She did not listen, but carefully grasped the fruit and pulled it from its branch. Then she turned toward Adam and held the fruit out toward him. See, the serpent was correct. I’m not dying.

Now taste it, Lucifer hissed. Taste it and experience the increased knowledge it offers.

Adam reached out to take it away from Woman, but she jerked it back and bit into the fruit.

    No, Woman!

She quickly chewed and swallowed. Adam looked at her in fear while she took another bite.

It is delicious, just as I imagined it. She bit off another piece and then handed the fruit to him.

He looked at it and then back at her.

    She smiled. Try it.

Yes, Lucifer hissed. Try it and let its knowledge come to life inside of you.

Adam stared momentarily at the fruit and then gazed at both Lucifer and his smiling wife. Woman, I do not want you to be different from me. Yah gave you to me that we might be one kindred. He focused his attention back onto the fruit and turned it in his hands. Yah said that we two are now one. Shall you experience this taste—this knowledge—without me? He looked at Woman. He said this fruit would change us. He locked his gazed onto the fruit. Perhaps the increased knowledge of good and evil will allow us to have better conversations with Him.

Adam nodded his head, satisfied with his reasoning, smiled, and bit into the fruit for himself. He chewed it. The taste is delicious. Then he
