Prized for their separating action, juicers use sharp blades to cut through fruit and extract as much liquid as possible from solids. The action can be circulating, which features a spinning blade; masticating, which evokes a chewing motion; or triturating, which refers to crushing and pressing. Fruits and vegetables—either whole or cut roughly to size—enter through the feed chute. The juice runs out of a spout and collects in a pitcher, while a recepticle collects the dry pulp.
