                                                      After the Storm

After the storm, the quiet, it settles over all,

Whispering, It’s ok, you’re safe, to creatures great and small.

The rains concede to stop, and roaring wind hushes.

The clouds begin to part as the swollen river rushes.

I listen deeply to the silence that now falls everywhere.

The sun on the grass, its golden sweetness shares.

The birds begin to sing again, my soul its pain releases.

As the last cloud rolls away, the weight of sorrow ceases.

                                                    Ravenous

There are two beasts that trouble me, my peace and heart to steal.

One is called DEPRESSION, and his bite is very real.

His partner is ANXIETY, whose appetite is fierce.

He hungers for my confidence, my fragile ego pierces.

I daily battle these two creatures, who can’t be satisfied.

They’ll go away, ignore them! GOOD INTENTIONS to me lied.

                                So I am ever on alert, a constant vigil keeping;

For these two ravenous animals who ever cause my weeping.

                                              Little Lamb

Little lamb so soft and sweet,

With too long tail and tiny feet.

                              Little lamb with curly hair,

With shining eyes and face so fair.

Little lamb you run and fall,

But you are strong, though you be small.

                              Little lamb we welcome you,

Into our fold, with love so true.

Little lamb you make us smile,

If only for a little while.

Little lamb we hope you stay,

With us here for many-a day.

Little lamb we hope you grow,

But it’s God’s will if you must go.

Little lamb you’ll be a part,

Of life always, within my heart.

                                                    WHY?

To those who hate for no real reason, I ask you this: WHY?

What about me bothers you so much, what makes you better then I?

                                Is
