    Introduction

If you have purchased this book, you are likely someone that wants a big change in mindset. This is completely normal in a person’s life when they come to realize there are some flaws in their life that they are unhappy about. Changing your mindset can lead to various other positive changes in life.

This is especially important if you are someone that is looking to bring more success into their life. A person’s idea of success varies wildly from one person to another. Some people may feel as if wealth is the definition of success, whereas others may feel that developing strong relationships is the definition of success.

A person’s mindset is important in their professional, personal, and romantic life. Without a positive and healthy mindset, it is easy to fall victim to negative thinking and bad habits such as procrastination. There are many different things you need to change and learn in your life to help you change your mindset. This includes working on the way you think, the way you view success, and learning to be mindful.

Often times, the constant comparison we are making of ourselves and the top 1% is detrimental to our mindset. Our upbringing and childhood also play a large role in affecting how positive our mindset is in the present day. If an individual grew up in a strict family who never gave position recognition to them, or they were always overshadowed by another sibling or if they grew up with uninvolved parents and they were always left to fend for themselves, then this will negatively affect their mindset later on.

Scientific studies have proven that children who grew up in families that didn’t show them enough love typically showcased a more negative mindset compared to children that grew up in families that expressed more love. These aspects are the reason why having a positive and functional mindset is extremely important today. In the present day, people have to always remind themselves of the things they have achieved no matter how significant or insignificant they think it is.

People have to actively and continuously work on their self-esteem and other similar factors in order to achieve a healthy life. A person’s mindset and the way they view themselves is the biggest influencer when it comes to the important act of decision making.

By having a healthy mindset, you will begin to see changes in not only yourself but will affect external parts of your life such as family, friends, and relationships. When your mindset is healthy and positive it will eventually help you increase self-confidence, that is crucial in career development and improving relationships with people in your life.

Before we get started on this book, start thinking about which areas in your life you’d like to start making changes in. Are you looking to improve your professional life? Get a promotion? Earn a raise? Or are you looking to find people to build romantic connections with? Regardless of what it is, the mindset you need is the same.

In this book, I will be teaching you various topics related to how you can change your mindset to one that is healthier and positive. I will start off by teaching the basics of mindset and some negative effects of having a negative mindset. Understanding the long term and health effects of a negative mindset will help you realize why it’s so crucial to employ a positive mindset. I will also then teach you about how having a positive mindset can benefit your life.

Towards the middle of this book, I will be teaching you how to assess your inner-self. This includes areas such as your inner-critic, self-esteem, and self-discipline. These areas are crucial as a person’s mindset is heavily built off of their inner-critic, self-esteem, and self-discipline.

By learning more about these topics, you can see where your mindset and views are stemming from. Later on in this book, I will be teaching you how to change your mindset by using a variety of techniques. I will take you through a standardized method, which is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and then a more relaxed method, which is mindfulness and meditation. I will also provide you with exercise sheets and habits that you need to work on to help improve your overall mindset.

I kindly ask you to leave a fair comment on this book on your experience - this will help other readers know what to expect as they embark on this challenging journey.

    Thanks!

    Section 1: The Basics

    Chapter 1: What Mindset means

In the first chapter with this book, I will be teaching you about the very basics of a person’s mindset. Through a series of modern research, scientists have concluded that a person’s mindset deeply affects their body and mental health. This phenomenon is called the mind-body connection.

These studies are usually conducted in the field of health and diet to help people understand why their mindset can cause them to crave unhealthy foods and drinks. I will be providing you with some examples of the mind-body connection as it relates to a person’s overall health and diet. Let’s learn a little more about this.

    The Mind-Body Connection

You may be wondering how these two seemingly unrelated things (the inner world and the outer body) can be considered related. Let’s use unhealthy eating as an example of the mind-body connection. Over time, your body learns that eating certain foods (like those containing processed sugars or salts such as fast food and quick pastries) makes the body feel rewarded, positive and happy for some time after these foods are ingested.

This goes the same for other unhealthy habits like binge-watching television or drinking alcohol. When you are feeling sad or worried, your body feels this and looks for ways to remedy these negative feelings. Your brain then connects the feelings of the mind with the reward that
