CHAPTER ONE
Personal Protection - Emotional Control
One of the key things you would need to do is to control your emotions when attempting to defend yourself during a violent assault. This will not be easy if your life is at risk. Your main priority is to survive without injury to you because it would make the recovery process worse and harder to overcome if there are accidents. It will be difficult to live a normal life after this attack, but it will never be the same. In this sense, managing your emotions would be one of the main keys to escaping you if you are targeted.
If you demonstrate that you are fearful rather than courageous, your abuser will have more control and power over you. You don't want to do it because it would make it harder to escape. Being bold, fearless, and furious will make it uncomfortable for your assailant to get away. The worst thing you could do is make the situation more aggressive by saying or doing the wrong stuff.
Make sure you are prepared for a scenario that causes your feelings to freeze and that your brain freezes. Things can go awfully wrong if you are not prepared, leaving you with regret for the rest of your life. Tell yourself right now that you are going to learn, teach and practice self-defense so that you can control your emotions at a time when training is the only way to safeguard your life. Leaving your own personal problems, others, or busy lives can just postpone the inevitable from the information and preparation you need.
Get ready for anything that keeps you from beginning your preparation, mentally, physically, and emotionally. If you continue using reasons to justify your decisions to do nothing right now, you will become an easy goal. Do you want to be an easy goal? During the training, it will help you get in shape by exercise and teach you to look confidently for risky places.
You can set up a probable simple objective by doing other things so that you don't need to undergo the requisite personal safety training. Do not allow it to happen to you because it does not value it, and it will reduce your regrets in the future to a minimum. It is nice to make life easier to live, and I know that's what you want. Take steps now to undergo the personal safety training required for your defense.
