My Pony - Avery Andersen
Chapter One
Getting my pony
Today is the best day ever! Today I am getting my very own pony. My friends are dropped off at 2:00pm, then we go to the horse farm. We play for a few minutes then my friends help find the best pony for me.
We found the first choice, a beautiful chestnut called Beauty (can’t you see where the name came from?), then a beautiful black mare called Lily, then a palomino mare called Cutie, and Twilight, a beautiful grayish black stallion with smooth shiny fur and a smooth shiny brown mane. We could choose only four ponies for me to try out at a time. First I tried Beauty, then, Twilight, then, Lily, then before I was able to try Cutie, something caught my eye, it was a few ponies grazing in a field not far from where I was standing. I asked Luke (the manager of the farm), if I could get a closer look at them really quick, Luke nodded, I said thank you, then ran over to the field where the ponies were grazing peacefully. One pony stopped grazing and looked up at me as I came to it with a handful of clovers.
Here girl,
I said, the pony walked to me, sniffed my hand, then ate the clovers. I stroked her mane, this pony was a beautiful grayish black, with a mane of gold and a heart of love.
I came to Luke and he said that I was talking to Moonshine. As I was trying Cutie I felt like asking if I could try Moonshine afterwards. Once I was done trying Cutie I rode over to Luke and asked him if I could try Moonshine. Sadly, he shook his head, Moonshine is just a feeding pony.
he said, Oh
, I said, disappointed. Then I rode over to my friends, I’m sorry that you couldn’t try out Moonshine.
Madeline said. I shrugged, Me too.
I said.
So
Luke said as he walked over to us, Who is it going to be?
Twilight!
I exclaimed, I walked over to my parents and asked them if I could have him.
Yes.
mom said,
Yes!
I exclaimed excitedly. Two minutes later Luke came over, following him was Twilight.
Here you go.
Luke said, He will be $500.00, please.
Here you go.
mom said, handing Luke the money. Luke said thank you and then my friends and I were ready to go.
As soon as I get Twilight in the trailer.
said Mom.
My friends and I got into the back of the van and waited impatiently to get Twilight home. Are you buckled up back there?
mom asked.
Yes.
my friends and I said.
Alright
mom said, Let’s go!
and we finally left the farm.
On the way to Madeline’s house, Twilight was kicking up a fuss because he had no room to run around like what he did back at the farm. Easy boy!
I called back, hearing my voice he calmed down for most of the drive. When we got to Madeline’s house I said good-bye and Twilight whinnied a good-bye from inside the trailer. On the way to Claire’s house, Twilight started kicking up a fuss again. Hey, Twilight, stop that!
I yelled back.
After I got home I helped my mom get the trailer ramp and leash ready before we opened the trailer door, and when we opened the trailer door Twilight galloped out straight toward me. Easy boy.
I said. He stopped before he almost crashed into me. I stroked him to sooth him before I put the leash on him. After I hooked the leash on him I led him to his stable, brushed him, and bathed him before I went to bed.
The next morning I looked outside, below I saw the perfect place to build a paddock for Twilight, right beneath my window where I could see him.
Chapter Two
My First Ride with Twilight as My Pony
Today is my first actual ride with Twilight, and I am very excited. I am getting dressed as fast as I can, running downstairs, having breakfast, and running outside. I am looking around and do not see the stable. I forgot where the stable was! Ok.
I said to myself in panic I know the stable has to be somewhere with lots of grass.
I ran around to the front of the house, looked around once more, and saw the stable!
Phew.
I said What a relief.
I ran over to Twilight and hugged him. Oh, Twilight!
I said, I was so worried about you!
I brushed him, tacked him up, and rode him to the horse farm. It took seven minutes less to get to the horse farm by going through the woods than by going on the road, even though the woods course was harder to get through. When we got to the horse farm I saw Luke.
Hi, Luke!
I called.
Hi, Avery!
he called back.
I rode over to where Moonshine was, got down from Twilight, and hugged Moonshine. Hi girl.
I said, happy to see her. I pulled two carrots out of my pocket, one for Moonshine and one for Twilight. Here girl.
I said to Moonshine. Here boy.
I said to Twilight.
Gratefully, the two ponies munched on their treats as I pet them. Before my mom realized that I was missing, I said bye to Moonshine and gave her one last pat. Let’s go.
I said to Twilight and we left at a gallop. While galloping it took us twenty minutes less to cut through the woods than by going on the road. Once we were out of the woods we turned and galloped alongside the road.
We got home at 7:13am, early enough for me to be able to condition Twilight for a minute, untack him, brush him, and help mom make breakfast. After all that was done it was exactly 7:30am. We all sat down for breakfast, Brogan, Oliver, my mom, my dad and I. Once breakfast was done we were allowed to do whatever we wanted, I went outside to ride Twilight, Brogan went downstairs and played Minecraft on the Xbox as for Oliver did to, mom went downstairs to her office room and worked on her computer, and dad went to his bedroom and worked on his computer.
As Twilight and I galloped up the road, I thought of a place we could go to. Then I came up with a place we could go to, Madeline’s house! On the way there I thought we could stop by the farm again and visit Moonshine, since the farm was on the way there.
Whoa, Twilight.
I said once we arrived at the farm. I got off of Twilight, finding four more carrots in my pocket I pulled them out and fed two to Moonshine and two to Twilight, as they munched on their treats I tied Twilight to a post on Moonshine’s fenced area, then went to find Claire and see if she was at the farm to, and if she was I would ask her mom if she could come with me to Madeline’s house.
When I asked her mom if Claire could come her mom said yes because Claire chose four horses to try and she chose to keep Bullfinch, another one of the horses on the farm. I ran over to Claire and
