Title Poem
A store front at day Description automatically generatedPhoto: WHS/PO Pillar boxes (2019)
The organisation of the Post Office was so vast
As advances through the decades passed
Postal, telephone and telegraph too
All the services to connect you!
Telegram, telex, and teletext
Few knew what was coming next
Datel and Datapost
And much later an Internet host
Fibre to the cabinet and the home
Mobiles enabling you to roam!
Separate companies run it now
As one was deemed to have too much power.
