THE RETURN OF POSTER STAMPS?

Dear Stamp Collector

I recently stumbled on internet images of some of the attractive poster stamps given away as promotional material to boost sales of chocolates and other produce by food manufacturers and retailers in late 19th and early 20th-century shops. The poster stamps succeeded not only by rewarding customers for buying a product, but also for renewed loyalty when they returned to purchase more in hope of acquiring a different poster stamp for their collection. The ritual of obtaining albums also drew customers
