      As I approach the sharp end of my life, I am in awe of the World, the Universe and Humanity.

      I am struck by the Universe and all its majesty, The Stars, the Moon, the Milky Way.

      I am also struck by the power of the Human Mind. Humanity has immense Power for Good or Evil and while the vast majority of humanity do good in the world, in the name of Politics and in particular Religion some evil things are said and done in the world

      All wars end in futility and people having to talk to each other and sort their differences out. While billions of dollars are spent on arms and war, a large part of humanity live in terrible poverty.

      Still I believe that common sense sometimes comes to the fore and we get a chance to move onto a more even keel.

      It seems that every generation has to make the same mistakes, but it is such a waste of human endeavour if we fail to learn from history.

      Those that fail to learn from history, are doomed to repeat it.
