REMEMBRANCE
Loneliness is silence,
and thoughts of being alone.
Silence is the lonely feeling,
when happiness is gone.
Two things so unrelated,
but yet so close indeed.
Two things yet so common,
for which I have no need.
I have often wondered if these two are one,
but the answer I am seeking I’ve heard not yet from anyone.
I find myself in silence, with loneliness so near,
It is lonely times like these, my friend that I have come to fear.
For loneliness is silence, and silence I do fear,
is remembrance of the bad times you’ve had through the years.

TOGETHERNESS
Togetherness is something, it takes two to share.
Though, often it is tripled, for this you must prepare.
Being with the people, mean the most to you is something that
will happen, especially when they are true,
Good friends and happy people are things that this will bring,
but faith and trust must be the things, you most strongly do believe.
For without these things there’s nothing, no hope, no faith, no friends.
For you will find that your togetherness has come to a sudden end.

I came home late one night, and spotted a package just inside my gate.
I scooped it up as I passed through, and it was to me addressed from you.
Of course my name was the first delight, because only a few that name would write.
I finally made it into the house, and with lots of prodding from my spouse, I opened up the box to see just what you had sent to me.
I found the note and read it first, then found that bag that was tucked inside.
I opened up the box it held and marveled at what my eyes beheld.
I read the verse upon its face and then I realized that a music box was part of this great surprise.
I played the song and re-read the verse and I smiled so big I thought I’d burst.
I know too that we can be ourselves; together we have shared a lot.
As time keeps going, it’s nice to know that you will always be the kind of friend that we have grown to be.
Carefree, silly, happy, giddy, funny, serious and sometimes delirious
But through it all we have learned the truth….
Cherish memories from your youth.
Bless your friends who know your truths, and you will never be alone.
Because these dear friends will keep you strong

pic19vs2.jpgA MEMORY BOOK
While looking through the scrapbook,
I took another look,
For in it there was something
that earned an extra look.
It reminded me of special times,
in years a long time passed,
Of people and their memories,
I wished so could last.
And as I turned the pages,
I remembered with my heart,
all those great, fantastic times,
and the lessons I had learned.
But now those times are over, and
the pages have all been turned,
But the memories I received from them,
have yet to be returned.

ONE NIGHT
One night, not so long ago,
the time I left and didn’t go.
I was with you for a while
for me it was a soulful trail.
A soulful trail in which I learned
of the kisses in which we yearned.
A shallow moment with you there,
And the stillness of the air.
Remembering now that joyous time,
When I was yours and you were mine.
It will linger in my heart,
Memories of which I’ll never part.
