    Acknowledgements

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of those who have brought much joy and peace to others through the rhymes and rhythms of song.  All of these songs have special meaning to me.  They remind me of many shared moments with other women and also of private times when singing these chants have soothed my soul.  These songs became part of my present life when I first attended herb school back in 1979.  They reside within me as part of my ancient past.  They inspire me to open my heart and express the feelings that lie deep within.

It is important to honor the creators of these songs, and I have done so whenever possible.  I must confess, however, that many of these songs have been shared, writer unknown or not mentioned.  I apologize if I have not given credit where credit is due but my goal is to share in the spirit of sisterhood rather than in the patriarchal attitude of ownership.  I confess to being guilty of not paying closer attention to song writers in the past and am committed to do better in the future.

Please accept my apologies for any omissions of source.  I place more value in the message itself rather than in the messenger.  No evil intention springs forth from my heart to slight the person
