James Arthur Warren AKA Thundercloud Repairian is an environmental scientist and socio-cultural educationalist. Along with his writing Thundercloud is creator and custodian of the "Australian Poetry Hall of Fame" in Guyra. He is a publisher, educator, poet, artist and writer and his first book, The Flea and the Dinosaur is a self illustrated children's book. I arrived in the Wollumbin Caldera and Nimbin in winter 2016 in my double decker bus named Atlantis and when the rains arrived in November, I experienced my first taste of magic mushrooms. I had begun writing a little but none of it was poetry or prose but most of it was the rantings of an angry activist who could see a different, more kind and compassionate way forward. Nimbin provided a glimpse of what is possible with a localised and compassionate community when they work together to overcome adversity with a growth mindset. 

Time alone meant time with my thoughts and the writing began to flow. I wrote this book, Love in Nimbin in 2017 along with Lust in Nimbin and they are the first two of my anthologies in the series, Love and Lust in Nimbin.

Finally I want to say thankyou and express my gratitude for the inspiration I have received from  Nimbin, its people and the environment of this beautiful continent known as Australia. 

I especially want to thank Lewis Walker for his welcome to Bundjalung country, sharing his wisdom and culture.

The Gentle Man

Arthur was a bear 

A bear who could hug with great care

Loving in a manly way 

Kind and happy, laugh and play

Always with gentle care

Arthur was a great big bear

He taught me how  to be a man

To walk with strength but softly

In the garden waits a boy

Beep of a horn, shouts of joy

Bumpa, grandpa coming home

Plums and lemons, grass freshly mown

Driving out on the freeway

No more bridges is the game we play 

In me, Arthur is forever more

The gentle man lives on for sure

Honouring the Mother Earth 

The Mother Earth who gave you birth 

The sisters honoured too

The softness of the feminine 

Kindness nurtures you

The masculine and feminine 

Will dance and spin

And each protected feminine

Is held within a masculine

Electricity and magnetism

Masculine and feminine

Dancing friction yang and yin

Boy and girl from within

Co-creation rainbow spin

Honouring the feminine

Love within magnetism

Feminine and masculine

All you need is love and air

Water and food to live 

Nature has everything 

Free for you to live

You don't need another ship owning your direction 

Freedom is your human right 

To own your own decisions.

Coolness

There is coolness in a crystal clear rocky rainforest creek or a shopping centre mall

Choose your own adventure, ultimately it's your call

There's coolness in the ocean and in a mountain breeze

Thunderclouds are super cool making the hotness leave

There's coolness in Antarctica no warmth and difficult to survive 

Hotness is important, it makes the cool mist rise

It forms the thunderclouds that then cool down the skies

Coolness is important but so is hotness too

Everything in balance everything in tune

Hotness brings the rain that coolness is in too

Hotness, coolness growing trees providing us with food

I thank the day, I thank the night

Hotness and coolness, red and blue, black and white

Everything in balance

Everything is just right

I won't be sleeping tonight as I feel that it is appropriate to be in nature alone and reflect on my life so when you read this I may be much older than that.
