About this ebook

When Gina Joy receives a letter from the prison where her husband is currently locked up for drug dealing, her whole world is rocked to the core. She finally faces up to the reason why she hasn't seen him for the four years he has been in prison, but with so much change in her life she finds it hard to cope with the thought of having him back in her life.

A taste of what's to come:

'I came to my senses and pulled his hand out of my shorts. There was a hint of regret in his eyes, but he looked away as Lara snatched the letter from his hand.
“Bloody hell, Gina! Why didn’t you tell me about this?” she demanded. “First you finally decide that you’re interested in your hunky neighbour and then you neglect to tell me that your husband has got a prison guard to write to you because you’ve been ignoring him.”
“I wasn’t ignoring him,” I told her. “Actually, that’s not entirely accurate. I was ignoring him, but only because I wasn’t prepared to drag my kids across the country to visit him.”'

I woke early and pulled on a cardigan over my pyjamas. The twins were at my mothers and Lara had done her webcam show from my bedroom the previous night the way she now did every other Friday. She was curled up in my bed, still clutching the dildo she had used to get me off after her show. We had an agreement that I could stay downstairs and watch TV while she did her show and then when she was done I would go up to bed and she would watch me fuck myself with my dildo before we went to sleep.

There was no way I was going to risk ending up on camera again. Once was quite enough for me, especially since I had correctly predicted that someone I knew had been watching it. Milo had wasted no time at all telling me how his girlfriend had told him to check out the video she was watching and that he had taken her from behind so they could watch it together. I swear to God, he had never once mentioned that his girlfriend was called Lacey, otherwise I wouldn’t have dreamed of sucking and fucking on a live web feed.

I crept downstairs, trying not to wake Lara. It was early August, but it was cold and the stone tiles of my kitchen floor were like walking on ice. I opened the blind and saw Erik in his garden, peering furtively over the fence the way he had a habit of doing lately.

She’s not up yet, Erik, I told him as I walked out onto the lawn and breathed in the cool morning air. Late night. I expect she’ll be sleeping for a few more hours yet.

He didn’t try to hide his disappointment. Lara had decided he was hot and would treat him to a quick show when she got up on Saturday mornings. Last week she had climbed onto the counter in front of the window to ride my rolling pin, which of course I had disposed of before I had a chance to forget what she’d done and use it for baking.

Is there something going on between the two of you? He asked, his voice rich and deep. This was why I avoided speaking to him—just the sound of his voice was enough to get my motor running. You seem very close.

No, we’re just friends, I lied.

Oh, he frowned as he noticed my wedding ring. I don’t recall ever seeing a husband around. Is he working overseas?

Something like that, I told him and walked over to the fence. As I peered over into his garden, I noticed how much tidier it was than mine. The boys had a habit of tearing around the lawn on their trikes and there was a huge ring of mud where they had worn away the grass. I never thought to ask, is there no Mrs Erik?

No, sadly not, he said as he bent down to pick some weeds from the flowerbed on the other side of the fence. I’ve never had the time and as soon as you say ‘banker’ to a woman these days they run a mile. It’s not as if I was responsible for the recession.

It hit everybody hard, I said apologetically. "But ‘green shoots’ and all that. I’m sure
