Surviving Loving a Ghost - Fania Simon

    poetry.

    Soul mate and Poetry

    Stage 1

    SECTION 1

    Divine Lady Edgar

    1. Beauty like the lilies in the mist of daisies

Brain like a bull—a storm, or a leading stream

    Heart like engaging—sweet waters

    Surrounding all curing hibiscus

    2. Locks like Jesus’ wool

    Skin like honey and copper

Eyes like firestones --stretching across the

    rainbow...

Garments made from Morocco’s gold bars

    3. O. True beauty rest on the inner part of me,

    the celestial lady

My God! Why haven’t you pursued me?

Looking For the One My Heart Loveth

    4. Yesterday about this time

I was in the City of York: and possessed

    I went down to Ellisville

I was searching for the one whom my heart

    loveth

    5. Like a strong mortal in a trance

I walked. With my own shadow, I walked

But back on Flatlands, I saw the man with no

    eyes

I stopped him dead on his tracks

    6. ‘Sir, do you see the man whom my heart

    loveth?’

And the black man with no eyes pointed to

    Glenwood Road

A clean Road full with Orchids

And I walked—and I walked until my veins

    were tired

    7. Oh, I have yet to find the one whom my

    heart loveth!

    Inspired by Song of Solomon

    My Life, His Way

    8. Don’t tag me Pagan!

For my mission is too powerful...

    Oh storming weather!

    Here’s the casket with wings...

    Cause truth shall not disappear

    9. Don’t follow me Pagan

    My footsteps are far-reaching

    10. Don’t step behind me...

And don’t step ahead of me.

Just set your heart in motion

    And earn you own prize.

Lady Edgar Met a Man That Night

    11. From that first night out in Manhattan

    She was satisfied

And since he was the only player in this

    game,

Only he knew his true position

    12. From day one they connected

Hence, she thought God sent him

    13. Like a treacherous sin,

    He unblocked her weeping pipe

    And now she is drained

    Egoism

    14. Life foolishness kept me here

    ‘Cause I thought

I met the man of my dream

    15. That night, the stars were so bright...

And during the course of that discovery

    Intercourse had no life

    16. From him, there was no sympathy

Simply .a rush for the nest

    17. O. The cock is still crowing

    But when summer left

The only heart attached was cock’s heart

    And with no surprise

Silent tears were once again my best wines

    Farewell Macho man!

    Shortly After

    18. My brief encounter with the moon has

    ended,

Still, I value him as a friend...

And if I ever hurt his feelings,

    I am sorry

    19. O, I have so much to say!

I wish I could talk to him today

However, I know he would not want love to

    stay

    Hey!

    Don’t be a stranger...

    SECTION 2

    L’amour [Love]

    20. O what a feeling?

While I was out the clouds called

So, how could I be so wrong?

When my heart is leading me this way?

21.These days, I hear strange sounds roaring

    from the skies

O lonely the heart of mine!

Tears met earth and earth is melting

    22. Underneath his feet,

    My king left me fading

    Now, tell me.

How could I be so wrong when my heart led

    me here?

I thought we would tie the knot the old

    fashion way

    A friend of a friend

    23. If only he knew

    Lord, he has no clue!

My heart is beating for him

    24. A friend of a friend...

And I long for a scene

Where I’ am resting in his arms

Spending every moment on earth with him

    25. O! Here at the fountain

    Here near the lotus garden

Here beneath the heavens on earth—

    I want that man

    Should I tell him?

    Love Kite

    26. This is the straightforward truth

    One night

    One sight

Lay me down to sleep before the light

So like a kite, my love can fly?

Sir, nurse me back to health.

    Go on…

    Test my faith!
