    It takes the reader on an odyssey of struggle between the ego and the calling of the soul; and how to integrate these two opposing forces. A troubled marriage, spiritual yearnings, abuse, and finding beauty in ordinary circumstances are used to gain greater and greater amounts of self-awareness as they become stepping stones to making peace with one’s life and that the victory of self-mastery does come.

      As I’m peeling back the layers of my interesting life,

      I recall my hidden little nugget that was deep inside.

      She was so desperate for me to let her shine.

      This little nugget was always nudging me,

      and telling me to live my life truthfully.

      I knew that she was there, and I didn’t want to share.
