About this ebook
What happens when everything is going smoothly?
The inevitable, of course.
Ford
Ford Abram’s life was easy, fun, and damn near perfect. With loving parents, two adorable twin sisters, ride or die friends, and girls on tap, there really wasn’t much missing from his life. Destined for the NFL, all his dreams were coming true, and he couldn’t be happier. So, why was he finding himself constantly annoyed by the random people around him? Good question.
Well, that would be because everything isn’t so perfect. He’d gotten knocked on his ass at a party one night, and he hasn’t recovered. He’s quickly regretting the deal he made with Amelia Prescott, and he’s not sure what to do about it. He’s a man of his word, and this girl was threatening his integrity with every breath in her delectable body. However, enough is enough, and it’s time to make a move.
Amelia
Amelia Prescott seemingly had no problems in her life. High school wasn’t the cesspool of angst and awkwardness for her as it was for a lot of kids. She had friends, a college boyfriend, and a twin brother who she wouldn’t trade for anything in the world. So, if everything was so perfect, why was she on a mission of destruction and revenge? Good question.
Well, that would be because everything isn’t so perfect. Finding out that her college boyfriend is a cheater, liar, and idiot is enough to make her a woman scorned. Refusing to play the heartbroken victim, she decides the best way to get over a guy is to get under another one. Enter Ford Abrams. However, she should have known it wasn’t going to be that simple.
When life is no longer just fun and games...
After getting the tongue lashing of a lifetime (and not the good kind), Ford decides he’s done playing Mr. Nice Guy. Knowing that he never should have acceded to that stupid agreement in the first place, he’s done waiting for Amelia Prescott to come to him.
After giving the tongue lashing of a lifetime (and they hadn’t even deserved it), Amelia decides it’s time for a change. Realizing that it’s simple fear that’s holding her back, she does her best to push beyond it and face her problems like and adult, Ford Abrams being one of those problems.
Amelia wasn’t looking to complicate things further, but Ford was about to uncomplicate them.
NOTE: This book contains adult language, adult situations, and explicit sexual encounters. If sensitive to any of the aforementioned issues, please do not purchase.

Author’s Note
Just a couple of things before I let you go and get your read on. While I am doing my best to work with better editing and proofreading software, all my books are solo, independent works. I write my books, proofread my books, edit my books, create the covers, etc. I have one beta who gives me feedback on my stories, but other than that, all my books are independent projects.
That being said, I apologize, in advance, for the typos, grammar inconsistencies, or any other mistakes I may make. Since writing is strictly a hobby for me, I haven’t looked into commitments in regard to publishers, editors, etc. My hope is that my stories are enjoyable enough that a few mistakes, here and there, can be overlooked. However, if you’re a stickler for grammar, my books are probably not for you.
Also, I am an avid reader-I mean an AVID reader. I love to read above any other hobby. However, the only downside to my reading obsession is when I fall in love with a series, but I have to wait for the additional books to come out. And because I feel that disappointment down to my soul, when I started publishing my works, I vowed to publish all books in my series all at once. No waiting here…LOL. Now, the exception to that will be if enough readers request additional stories based off the standalone, such as in Facing the Enemy. At that point, if I decide to move forward with a requested series, I will make sure all additional books are available all at once. As much as this is a hobby for me, I am writing these books for all of you, as well as myself.
Thank you, for everything!

Prologue
It wasn’t the cheating that had my chest feeling like it’d been stomped on. It wasn’t even seeing him cheating that had caused my stomach to roll.
It was the lies.
The lies were what had me pulling into an empty space across the street from Sloan Jackson’s house party.
It was the lies that had me feeling reckless and vengeful.
It was the lies that I couldn’t stomach.
When Ernest had graduated in June and had headed for college, it had been with the understanding that we’d no longer be exclusive. I hadn’t wanted to feel like an obligation and Ernest hadn’t wanted to feel obligated. We had agreed that we could date other people. We
