About this ebook
Who are the biggest cheaters? Men or women?
You’re wrong, no matter what your answer is.
Henley
Henley Everhart’s life was a good one. With adorable-albeit, wacky-parents, a great sister, a wonderful job, and the independence of a strong woman, Henley had no complaints. She was even lucky enough to be dating a co-worker who understood the stress of the advertising world and didn’t smother her with neediness. Henley even expected a ring soon.
When Henley’s boyfriend finally does propose with a ring, it’s to someone else. A surprise visit turns into the humiliation of a lifetime, and after causing a scene worthy of an internet clip, Henley hits the first bar she sees, and the anger is alive and well the more she tries to drink away her sorrows. Or is it anger that she’s trying to drink away? She’s not even sure anymore.
Dash
Dash Weston’s life was pretty remarkable. With supportive parents, a kiss-ass brother, more money than he’ll ever need, and a job he loved, Dash had no issues in life. He was even lucky to be dating a woman who understood the pressures of his job. A genius security programmer, Dash didn’t work a nine-to-five. Finding someone who supported that was damn near a miracle.
When Dash’s girlfriend assumes that he’s at work as usual, he assumes that she’s doing the same thing. A surprise visit home proves them both wrong. After Dash catches her screwing another man in their bed, he kicks the guy’s ass, dumps her, then heads to the nearest bar to drink his fury away. Deep in his drink and stewing in his anger, he’s not expecting what happens next.
When the battle of the sexes gets real...
Fresh with anger, hurt, humiliation, and alcohol, Henley is not about to let some stranger rain on her heartbroken parade. When Dash Weston dares to tell her that woman are the root of all evil, she comes back swinging, much to the wariness of the frightened bartender.
Fresh with anger, hurt, humiliation, and alcohol, Dash is not about to let some stranger steal this heartbroken thunder. When Henley Everhart dares to tell him that men are the cause of all the world’s problems, he defends his species passionately, though the bartender is wisely keeping his mouth shut.
When heartache, embarrassment, and bitterness eventually give way to the need for validation, Henley and Dash find themselves at the hotel across the street in search of that validation. Dash in a bid to prove that he doesn’t suck in bed, and Henley in a bid to prove that she isn’t a prude in bed.
After hours of being...uh, validated, Henley sneaks out on Dash the next morning, then moves on with her life, believing that she’s never going to see him again. Surprise, she’s wrong. Three months later, they’re thrown together for work, and three months later, Dash is still pissed. Very pissed.
NOTE: This book contains adult language, adult situations, and explicit sexual encounters. If sensitive to any of the aforementioned issues, please do not purchase.

Author’s Note
Just a couple of things before I let you go and get your read on. While I am doing my best to work with better editing and proofreading software, all my books are solo, independent works. I write my books, proofread my books, edit my books, create the covers, etc. I have one beta who gives me feedback on my stories, but other than that, all my books are independent projects.
That being said, I apologize, in advance, for the typos, grammar inconsistencies, or any other mistakes I may make. Since writing is strictly a hobby for me, I haven’t looked into commitments in regard to publishers, editors, etc. My hope is that my stories are enjoyable enough that a few mistakes, here and there, can be overlooked. However, if you’re a stickler for grammar, my books are probably not for you.
Also, I am an avid reader-I mean an AVID reader. I love to read above any other hobby. However, the only downside to my reading obsession is when I fall in love with a series, but I have to wait for the additional books to come out. And because I feel that disappointment down to my soul, when I started publishing my works, I vowed to publish all books in my series all at once. No waiting here…LOL. Now, the exception to that will be if enough readers request additional stories based off the standalone, such as in Facing the Enemy. At that point, if I decide to move forward with a requested series, I will make sure all additional books are available all at once. As much as this is a hobby for me, I am writing these books for all of you, as well as myself.
Thank you, for everything!

Prologue
This couldn’t be happening.
Not to me.
My mind was stunned in disbelief at what I was seeing. My heart was searching for an explanation while my mind was screaming that the explanation was right there, staring me in the face.
I was standing on the sidewalk, wondering how everyone else could just be going on with their lives while mine was shattering to pieces in front of them all.
Could they not see it?
Was it just me?
Was this just some horrible nightmare that I just needed to shake myself awake from?
I watched him wrap his arms around her and throw his head back, laughing towards the sky. Even from where I stood, I could hear that it was a genuinely happy sound. He looked back down at her, and his smile spread across his entire face. I also noticed that it reached his eyes.
When was the last time he laughed like that around me?
Nope.
No.
Hell, no.
My self-respect shoved my insecurities aside and reminded me that he could have said something if he were unhappy. If he no longer loved me, he could have just told me. However, he should have said something when he began to fall out of love with me, not after the fact. He could have communicated his doubts or concerns before it got to this point.
I stood on the sidewalk, feeling like an utter fool.
I thought we were happy.
I thought we were getting married.
That’s when anger pushed self-respect aside and I walked up to the asshole and his floozy.
*****
This couldn’t be happening.
Not to me.
This shit only happened in bad romantic comedies. This was the shit you heard happened but never imagined it truly happened in real life.
However, it was happening.
I stood outside the bedroom door, my hand on the doorknob, white-knuckled, wondering how in the fuck something like this happened.
How did a person explain this type of crazy shit?
How did a person not see the signs of something like this coming?
Was I that blind?
Or was I just that stupid?
Had I been hoodwinked by perfect blonde hair and cornflower-blue eyes?
With a sickening dose of reality, I knew I’d been played for the fool when I heard the exact same moans escape through the door that I’ve heard over, and over again this past year. There was no change up. It was almost as if they were scripted, only I’d been replaced as the leading man in her fucked-up little show.
And, well fuck, did I just suck in bed?
Nope.
No.
Hell, no.
My self-respect slapped me in the back of the head and reassured me that my dick and its skills were just fine. If she were unhappy or unsatisfied, she damn well sure should have said something before now. I wasn’t a prude. If she’d wanted to spice things up, all she had to do was say something.
Communicate, damn it.
I thought we were happy.
I actually considered marrying the cheating tramp.
That’s when anger pushed maturity aside and I opened the door, losing my ever-lovin’ shit.
Chapter 1
Henley~
Men were evil.
They were the spawn of Satan, and I had no use for them.
I slapped my purse on the counter, and the bartender must have felt the man-hating vibes permeating off me when I walked in because he was standing in front of me before my ass had even hit the barstool.
What can I get you?
he said, smiling.
The prick.
