Introduction
The art of raising great children that are not addicted to drugs does not inevitably mean that parents must be great themselves.
They don't even have to be super knowledgeable
or highly educated. Parenting requires being with your children when they are sick, watch them play in school games and sports.
You should also help them with their homework; and participate mainly in ceremonies when they are presented for school and sporting achievements.
Children today are smarter than their parents. I am in the knowhow! Our own children have proven my point.
I graduated from university with an average grade point. Nevertheless, I have had a successful career in accounting.
Our three children were close to A-level students during their middle and high school years and continued with high GPA in college.
Two are graduates and are currently developing their careers. The youngest is in the second year and follows publishing courses.
I made parenting an art, not a duty or a task when it came to raising our children.
When I think back to my parents, I remember very well how much they enjoyed raising their ten children, and none of us has ever been deprived of love or attention.
They made it an art to keep us healthy and educated.
The Real Acts of Raising Great Children
Ihave found that the extent to which parents want to raise their children will have a more positive effect, which will lead to more suitable children than destroying them with gifts to reassure them.
This is referred to as spending quality time with enough doses of love and discipline.
This is what you want to use from the birth of your children through to adulthood.
This implementation of parental commitment gives your children the best chance of taking the right path early in life and not falling onto the street later.
It means keeping them away from drugs and spending time with the wrong group of friends.
I knew parents whose children were kind but lazy about everything else.
Their kids eventually became poor students and got expelled from high school.
I have also met parents with high standards and very successful lives who raised children who have had trouble with the law more than once, mainly due to the use and sale of illegal drugs.
Worst still, some of these teens were zealous with rave parties and missed school altogether.
On the family side, my parents could hardly offer a good level of comfort and food in our growing years.
Yet we all survived greatly to receive formal education and become great providers for our own families.
What was the formula? It was spending enough time, love and a lot of applied discipline.
I remember that the dose of discipline
was greater for me than for the rest of my brothers and sisters, perhaps with the exception of my younger brother.
From all my experiences as a parents and taking into account the successes and failures of my close relatives and friends with their children, I have considered
