About this ebook
I asked the moon
how it felt.
It said, ‘Dark and lonely.’
It looked at me,
It smiled.
It said, ‘Much better now.’
I said to the moon
it must be beautiful up there.
It smiled,
then cried a little.
I said to the moon
what if I joined you?
It looked at me,
It smiled.
It said, ‘Much better.’
Samiksha Rungta
Samiksha Rungta is 19 years old and lives in the beautiful city of Ahmedabad, in Gujarat. She lives with her parents, elder sister and younger brother. She is currently a student at the London College of Fashion (UAL) and is aspiring to become a successful Fashion Designer someday. She acquired her ISC certificate after graduating High School from Welham Girls’ School in Dehradun. She loves reading poetry and some of her biggest inspirations are Robert M. Drake and Megha Rao. When she started pursuing art as a hobby and later as a subject, she learnt how it was actually possible to channel emotions onto paper through different mediums. Her interest in art, led her to discover her love for writing in the process of describing her artwork, through small poems or even short prose. When she is not spending her time playing with her Golden Retriever, Gucci, she writes poetry. She believes that poetry is a way to depict what a person is thinking better than any other art form. Though she loves dancing, listening to music, sketching and painting just as much as she enjoys writing.‘Somewhere I Talk to The Moon’ is her debut book of poetry.
