    Elizabeth 'Liz' Kendall is the pseudonym used by the author Elizabeth Kloepfer to write the book on her personal life and her relationship with Ted Bundy, the serial killer.

    Elizabeth Kendall was a single mother to her daughter Molly when she first met Bundy. She had left Utah in the year 1969, struggling to get a divorce from her husband. She and her best friend Angie were looking to relocate to another city to start over their lives in a new city in a new direction. They first thought of going to Santa Clara, CA, but then thought it would not suit their needs. They overheard some people talking about Seattle and thought they could shift there as it was nearer to Utah as compared to California. Also, the author had a cousin living in Seattle, so they felt that they wouldn't be going to a completely unknown location.

    Angie had already left for Seattle while Elizabeth awaited the completion of her degree course. Once done, Elizabeth and Molly moved to Seattle, where they both initially stayed with Angie until they found a place to settle down. Elizabeth immediately started looking for a job and attended an interview at the University of Washington and was later hired as a secretary for the medical department.
