Nex Gen Trinity Hush Chapter One - Jimi Alan

    Chapter ONE

    Jimi Leroy

The sound of a teacher lecturing the class rang in his ears. Jimi leaned back in his desk with a screen shimmering before his eyes. He felt his back against the plastic of his chair. The feeling of the school uniform over his body, made Jimi feel like a fool. He knew the school uniform was a symbol of his family's states on the island.

Paying no attention to the teacher standing in front of the classroom, Jimi kept his fingers locked together over the surface of his desk. He heard the teacher say the same lecture the day before. His mind wondered how much his mother was paying the school, to teach him the same lessons each day.

Letting his mind wonder, Jimi felt his thoughts becoming distracted. He thought back to what happened the day before.

Jimi remembered standing in the middle of the training room. He heard the sound of Clay’s voice in his ears. He yelled at him to duck his head.

Moving his head down, Jimi remembered the feeling of an object brushing over the top of his head. He moved his hands before his face. The feeling of an object hitting his hands, made him sigh. Jimi lifted his head as his hands went out towards the object that went over him. He felt no connection with the world around him. His ears heard the sound of the object touching the pavement.

Iva cried out from across the simulated street. Her voice rang in Jimi’s ears. He listened to her voice as an eruption of lightning went shooting out of her fingertips. Iva made her hands into fist as the lighting struck a man running towards her. She lifted her hands up to her face, to protect herself.

The man punched Iva, making a loud thud before sending her down the street. Jimi’s eyes widened. He was surprised for a non-human to hit her with such strength. He wondered if the mob of civilians were too much for them to handle.

Jimi decided to check in with Skylar. He held his fingertip up to his ear. Jimi hoped she would understand his fingertips as a sign for her to start a line of communication with him. He heard the soft white sound of the communications line being established.

Hey, Skylar. Jimi wondered. What’s going on with the mob?

The sound of footsteps rushing down the street towards him, made him worried. Jimi moved his hands before himself. He felt no connection with the surrounding air. He wondered if the air had listened to his command for a barrier of air to appear on the street before him. Jimi had a feeling that the flowing barrier of air would be able to keep the mob back. He knew the barrier would last for a few minutes.

His ears peaked at the sound of Skylar’s voice in her ears. They look to be pulling back. Her voices sound distracted in his ears.

Jimi moved his hands over to his side. He heard the sound of stone erupting up from the ground. The feeling of a cold shadow being cast down onto his body. The cold feeling of the shadow made Jimi realize someone jumping over his head. He heard the sound of the street cracking open before him.

The sound of stone erupting up from the street before them, echoed in Jimi’s ears. He heard the sound of the stone rippling down the street. He knew the stone of the street went rippling further away from the street. Jimi heard the sound of people losing their grip on the street. He wondered how many people on the street were still standing. The people in the street trembled in fear as the stone below their feet became unstable.

Listening to the sound of footsteps sneaking up to his side. Jimi moved his hands over to the sound. He sent out a burst of air from his fingertips. He heard the sound of the air contacting the body of a stranger, who was charging towards him.

The sound of the stranger’s back hitting a glass window, echoed in Jimi’s ears. He had a feeling that the mob would start sneaking up behind him. He rose his fingertips back up to his ear.

Jimi asked Skylar. Why didn’t you warn me about the guy I just flung into the building?

Because you’re out of my view. Skylar’s voices sound distracted to him. Take a step to your right and you’ll be back in the camera's sight.

Ok. Jimi took a step to his right. Can you see me now?

    Yes. She smirked. Perfect.

Clay shouted. Can we be restricted now?

Iva tried to keep her cool. Yeah, I think the boys are getting tired. She snickered as another eruption of lightning shot out of her fingertips. By the way. She told Skylar. I’m not able to shapeshift my form, in this simulation.

Jimi sighed. Yeah, it's hard for me to connect to the air to see what’s around this digital space.

I’ll make notes of everything. The sound of the world around them flickering away, rippled into Jimi’s ears as Skylar said. Leo will need to make the improvements himself, once he gets a break from school?

The sound of the simulation ending, made a smile go across Jimi’s face. He liked being able to train with his team, without having to leave the tower. He had a feeling Skylar was impressed with the technology as well. Jimi lifted his hands towards his head. He felt the clean texture of a small device, which wrapped around his head.

Pulling the device away from his head, Jimi let out a sigh. He kept the device in his hand as he walked towards the entrance of the room. Jimi was glad to feel the air slithering around his hands. He knew the device had transported him into a simulation of a real world event.

Clay sighed. You think that a virtual training room would be more fun. He moved his hands up to the top of his head. Like, come on. He pulled the device off of his head. Couldn’t we have been on a beach, or something?

That sounds more like a vacation. Iva pulled the device away from her eyes. She lifted the device away from her head. Clay, the key word you're forgetting, is training. She sighed. It’s not supposed to be fun.

Standing in the corner of the room, Skylar moved her hands over a screen hovering before her eyes. She took a step away from the wall, which she found herself leaning up again. Her arms crossed over her chest.

A sigh slithered over Skylar’s lips. You guys took out several of the civilians, which made the mob become more aggressive.

Oh. Jimi wondered. We weren’t supposed to defence ourselves.

Some people would say that by defending your selves. She tried to explain. You guys helped fuel the violent behaviour of the mob. Skylar reminded them. Making the civilians more aggressive.

Lowering his head, Jimi felt his guilt for hitting the civilians. He knew the civilians in the simulation were fake. Jimi wondered if there was another way for them to contain the incident. He darted his eyes over in Skylar’s directions.

He wondered. What should’ve we done?

I’m not sure. Skylar said. "Maybe, we’ll find
