    Thomas Edison, widely considered to be one of the greatest inventors of all time, invented the electric light bulb. His discovery was not an overnight success. It took him over 10,000 attempts before he finally figured out how to build a working electric light bulb. It took Thomas Edison years of struggle before he was successful.

    Hold on, I just saw the skinny guy at the back of the room stand up and start bitching and complaining, I don’t like Thomas Edison. What about Nikola Tesla?

    Guy, sit the fuck down.

    Now, after we were all so rudely interrupted, if Tesla got shit right on the first try it wouldn’t prove the point I’m trying to prove now would it? You need to learn how to cherry-pick your facts if you ever want to run for public office, guy.

    Most entrepreneurs face the same challenge as Thomas Edison; their first attempt does not succeed. In most cases, Murphy’s Law and such, it turns into a massive shitstorm and takes several attempts. Many more attempts than you had the time or patience for, but it works out eventually. An idea must often be reworked several times before it becomes a success.

    You must never doubt yourself. All successful people believed in themselves. If they didn’t, they would not have invested the time, effort, and other resources necessary to accomplish their goals. Without a strong belief in themselves, they would never have pushed through all of the failures and walked through the shitstorm with a windblown inside out umbrella. Go ahead, make a mental picture of a person walking through a shitstorm with a windblown inside out umbrella getting viciously pelted.

    That’s what it takes to be successful.

    To accomplish any goal, and to be successful, whatever your own personal definition of success is, you must always believe in yourself—no matter what.

    Your attitude is very important. It is an external expression of your internal thinking, which shows the outside world the way you feel inside.

    That’s deep.

    Your attitude is apparent in the way you interact with the outside world. Your attitude is evident in the words you say and the body language you use.

    People are very good at interpreting the attitude of others. It’s one of our highly developed natural and instinctual communication skills. We’ve developed this skill through thousands of years of evolution.

    The attitude you show other people determines the attitude they show you in return. Consequently, your attitude affects your interactions with other people. If you interact positively with other people, there is a very good chance they will interact positively with you.

    If you interact in a negative way with someone, you can be fairly certain they will be a female dog right back.

    Remember, to be successful, whatever your own personal definition of success might be, you need other people to support, encourage, and help you.

    So, a positive attitude is essential to your success when attempting to accomplish any goal for two important reasons.

    First, to believe in yourself so you support and encourage yourself.

    Second, to make other people believe in you and give you their support and encouragement.

    So, you’ll have both internal and external support and encouragement.

    A good attitude is essential to getting what you want from life.

    So, don’t let a shitty attitude fuck up your life.

    The Importance of a Positive Attitude

    If you always see things in a negative way, it’s easier to stay depressed and get discouraged. If you are depressed and discouraged, it’s very difficult to accomplish your goals. You’ll find it
