Love, Marriage & Infidelity 2 - Vivian Blue

    1

Tiffany sat in the back of the truck fidgeting because she was nervous as hell. She was about to be face to face with her father-in-law and his parents, and didn’t know what to expect. She knew that marrying Diego would come with some adversity, but Juan Carlos appeared to be okay with the situation, according to Diego. And she was rest assured with Diego’s confidence that everything would be all right with the visit.

Josie decided to tag along on the visit with Tiffany. Things were crazy in her life and she needed to get away for a few days to think about what to do about her marriage. She snuck the girls away from Ashley’s house after she pulled herself together from her argument with Kennedy. She refused to let him make all of the decisions pertaining to their separation. And taking the girls away from her was out of the question! She went out to Chesterfield, Missouri and got a hotel room. The only person she told was Tiffany, and that’s how she and the girls ended up in Colima with her, Diego, and DJ. Diego did not like the fact that Josie was going against her husband. But he found that in order to keep peace with his wife, he’d best stay out of any affairs that had to do with Tiffany’s family.

The truck pulled up in front of Javier’s compound. It was a huge estate surrounded by a beautiful scenic view of the mountains. They weren’t too far away from the Pacific Ocean and Tiffany couldn’t wait to go play in the water. She’d never really traveled anywhere, so this was an amazing experience. She was taking in all the sights and had an infectious excitement that made Diego smile.

Are we going to go to the ocean today? asked Tiffany. I really want to go sit on the beach with DJ. Diego kissed Tiffany’s head and smiled.

We will have time to do all of that, Diego replied. We have a private beach where my family goes to swim. I can suggest that we have a picnic prepared for us, and the staff will set up an area.

Can you do that, Diego? beamed Tiffany. I would love that, baby! And I think Josie and the girls would enjoy it as well. Diego looked out of the window for a second.

For the record, Tiffany, I don’t agree with what Josie has done. It wasn’t cool for her to take the girls and run from her husband, Diego explained. In marriage, a husband and wife are supposed to be able to communicate with one another in order to resolve their differences. Tiffany stared out of the window because she didn’t want to discuss Josie’s situation with Diego.

It’s none of our business, Diego, so what you need to concentrate on is the fact that we have to face your father. Just because he didn’t say anything about our marriage over the phone does not mean that he’s okay with it. Sometimes the bearer of bad news likes to give it to you face to face. Diego put his arm around Tiffany’s shoulder and squeezed.

You worry too much, Diego smiled. Everything is going to be fine! Watch and see what I tell you. Tiffany looked over at Diego, unsure about his words, as the trucks pulled up in front of the house. Juan Carlos and Caroline were standing out front with big smiles on their faces.

Diego got out of the car and smiled brightly at his parents. He offered his hand to Tiffany to help her get out of the truck, then he grabbed DJ’s car seat. Josie and her girls got out of their truck and she smiled at the familiarity of the Munzo Compound. She’d spent time there with Levi and enjoyed all of the beauty that it had to offer.

Welcome! smiled Juan Carlos. Was everyone’s flight okay?

Let me see my grandbaby, smiled Caroline, walking up to Diego.

Dang, Ma! Can we at least go into the house first? laughed Diego. Caroline looked at Diego and rolled her eyes. Next, she took the car seat out of Diego’s hand and walked off towards the house.

Your ass can go on about your business now, Caroline called over her shoulder. I got my grandbaby and that’s all that’s important! Everyone laughed as they followed behind her towards the house.

How are you doing, son? asked Juan Carlos, offering his hand to Diego. Diego grabbed it firmly and gave his father a solid handshake.

I’m well, Papa. Thank you for the invitation, Diego replied. Tiffany walked up to Juan Carlos and smiled shyly.

How are you, Tiffany? asked Juan Carlos. Should I call you daughter now? Tiffany looked at him bashfully.

No, sir, she replied. Tiffany is good enough for me.

Good answer, Juan Carlos replied. I’m happy to see you again. He extended his hand out to Tiffany and she took it reluctantly. Juan Carlos grabbed her hand firmly and shook it with a smirk on his face. Ah, Josie! It’s been a while.

Yes it has, Juan Carlos, Josie replied. Juan Carlos walked up to Josie and gave her a hug. Tiffany stared in disbelief because all he offered her was a handshake. Why didn’t she get a friendly hug? Are these your beautiful girls?

Why yes, they are, smiled Josie. This one right here in the purple is Leslie. And the one holding my leg is Kennedy, but we call her Baby K.

Your husband didn’t accompany you guys? asked Juan Carlos, looking around Josie and the girls. I figured he would be with you since it was a chance to have a small vacation.

It’s complicated, Juan Carlos. And your best friend is at the root of it all, smirked Josie. Juan Carlos smiled at Josie because he’d already talked to Levi. He alerted Levi that Josie was accompanying Diego and Tiffany on their trip. And when Levi finds out that Kennedy didn’t accompany her, Juan Carlos was sure that Levi would be on the first thing smoking to Colima.

Can I have something to drink, Mommy? asked Leslie. I’m Thursday. Juan Carlos smiled at the round-faced little girl.

That’s cute, she’s Thursday. Don’t you mean you’re thirsty, sweetie? asked Juan Carlos. How about we go inside and I have someone get you something to drink? Leslie stared at Juan Carlos unsure for a moment. She looked up at her mother who was smiling down at her.

Is it okay, Mommy? asked Leslie.

Yes, it’s okay, baby. We’re going to be staying with Juan Carlos and his family for a few days. This is your aunt Tiffany’s new family, Josie explained. Juan Carlos held out his hand and Leslie stared at him skeptically.

Are you ready? asked Juan Carlos. I can get you something to drink. Leslie stared at him for another few seconds then grabbed his hand. They turned and walked towards the house with Josie and Baby K right behind them.

I’m ready to go on the beach, said Tiffany. The water looked so beautiful as we flew over it!

And I bet it feels nice and warm, Josie added. This is definitely what I need to clear my head and think.

Thanks for coming with me, smiled Tiffany. She hooked her arm under Josie’s and they walked towards the house. Baby K held on to Josie’s hand while Diego followed behind them. I don’t think I could have done this without you. Tiffany looked behind them and smiled at Diego. Did you see the way Juan Carlos gave you a hug but offered me a handshake?

You’re worrying for nothing, Josie assured her sister. He might have felt that you would be uncomfortable with a hug. You did look a bit tense.

I guess, Tiffany replied. But I still have to meet Diego’s grandparents.

And they’re going to love you just like I do, Diego interjected. You need to relax and stop worrying.

That’s easier said than done, Tiffany scoffed. I have a weird feeling but it might just be nerves.

It might be nerves, Diego replied.

I definitely think it’s nerves, smiled Josie. They walked into the house and the two ladies were in awe at the grand décor of the atrium. Oh my God, it’s still as beautiful as I remembered! Levi and I spent a… Josie caught herself and looked over at Tiffany. Never mind. I wonder which way did Juan Carlos go with Leslie?

The kitchen is this way, said Diego. I can take you, Josie, while Luisa escorts you to our room, Tiffany.

I want to see the kitchen too, Tiffany quickly replied. You can show me to our room after we’re done. She looked at Diego and raised her eyebrows. I’m sure we’re not going to see our son for a while. And I can figure out a few ways for us to remain occupied.

I like the sound of that, Diego smiled. Let’s go take care of this real quick then we can go.

Has Diego arrived yet with my grandson? asked Javier.

Yes, sir, Juan Carlos replied. Diego, Tiffany, DJ and Tiffany’s sister, Josie, and her two girls made it safely. Javier scratched his head.

Why such a large group? asked Javier curiously.

Well, Tiffany is DJ’s mother and Josie is her big sister. I guess Tiffany wanted someone familiar to come along with her on the trip. Javier laughed at his son’s statement.

We don’t bite, he continued to laugh. Is her sister soft on the eyes? Juan Carlos looked at his father and smiled.

Josie’s actually quite beautiful. I don’t know if you remember meeting her a while back, but Levi brought her here on a visit, Juan Carlos replied. Javier thought for a moment.

Are you talking about that beautifully thick dark gal? smiled Javier. The one with the smart-ass mouth?

Exactly, Papa. She’s the one who ran off, got married, and broke Levi’s heart. Juan Carlos smiled. But there is something else you need to know.

Well, go ahead and spit it out, said Javier, rubbing his hands through his hair. You know I’m an old man and my time is very precious.

Yes, I know, Papa, Juan Carlos replied. He walked over and sat down in a chair across from where his father was sitting. So, Papa… Juan Carlos took a deep breath.

Spit it out already, Javier scoffed.

Okay. Diego made the choice to marry Tiffany before DJ was born because he didn’t want his son to be born a bastard, Juan Carlos explained. I wasn’t aware of this until an incident occurred, and Diego felt the need to tell Caroline. Javier grabbed his Cahaba and licked the end of it. He bit the bottom of it and spit it out in a tissue. Juan Carlos watched as his father lit his cigar. Do you have any thoughts on this situation?

Indeed I do, Javier replied. I think it’s admirable that Diego wanted his son to be born in good faith in the eyes of God. However, he went against the agreement that was made between Sophia’s family and ours.

Understood, Juan Carlos replied. But Tiffany is a lovely girl and from what Caroline tells me, she’s very supportive to Diego. She helps him with his courses and takes very good care of their family.

Again, that is wonderful, but a legal agreement was made between our families that cannot be broken. Was Tiffany aware that Diego was supposed to marry Sophia? asked Javier.

Yes, sir. She’s fully aware of the agreement and told Diego that she would accept whatever decision that would be made about the situation, Juan Carlos explained. Javier puffed on his cigar for a few minutes while Juan Carlos sat quietly staring out of the window. He noticed Josie on the phone and it looked like she was in a heated conversation. He pulled out his phone and decided to make a call to his best friend. Juan Carlos was curious about whether or not Levi and Josie had crossed paths. And maybe Levi had room in his schedule to make an impromptu visit to Colima.

    Hello.

Hey, mi amigo! What’s up? said Juan Carlos enthusiastically.

Shit! You got the best go, amigo, Levi replied happily. What do I owe the pleasure? Juan Carlos got up and went over to the window. He noticed that Josie was now in tears, but still engaged in a serious conversation.

Did you happen to run into that foxy little chick that you were so in love with while she was in St. Louis? asked Juan Carlos. What’s her name? Josie! Levi smiled.

Yes, I had the pleasure of her company while she was here helping out Tiffany and Diego. I think she’s gone back to Kentucky to try to hash things out with her husband, Levi explained with a chuckle. We got caught up in a compromising position a few times, if you know what I mean. Both Juan Carlos and Levi laughed.

Well, look here my friend. I think I have some news for you that will make you a very happy man, Juan Carlos smiled. What if I told you that I’m standing here staring at Josie.

Are you in St. Louis? asked Levi curiously.

No, my friend. We’re in Colima, Juan Carlos replied.

Colima? What is she doing there? asked Levi, confused.

Let’s just say I think she’s running from her husband. She and her two girls came down with Diego and Tiffany because I wanted Javier to meet my grandson, Juan Carlos replied. However, I do have some business I wanted to run across with you if your schedule permits. I think it would be wonderful if you could come down to Colima for the weekend.

Enough said, Levi quickly answered. I’m emailing my pilot now to see how soon he can be ready to fly. Juan Carlos smiled as he watched Josie put her phone in her pocket. She was wiping her face and trying to regain her composure before going back with everyone else.

That sounds wonderful! Let me know what the arrangements are so I can send a car to come get you when you arrive, Juan Carlos insisted. I think it would be safer for you if one of my men drove you around.

Agreed, friend. And thank you, Levi replied. They hung up the phone and Juan Carlos continued to watch Josie. He knew how much his friend deeply cared for the beautiful vixen. Juan Carlos also remembered how Levi mourned when he found out that Josie had married Kennedy. Maybe if a little push was given to help bring Josie and Levi together without the interference of her husband. Josie might realize how much she truly wanted to be with Levi, and leave her husband for good.

What are you up to, son? asked Javier. I heard you just invited Levi down for a visit.

I’m not up to anything, Papa, Juan Carlos replied. I just invited my friend down to talk over a little business. I think that it’s time for Diego to put in some work while he’s in St. Louis. He will eventually take my place as head of the family when I get too old to run things. And because Levi is in St. Louis with him, I figured he would be the best person to show Diego the ropes and keep a close eye on him. I’d say mentor Diego on the ins and outs of the family business. Javier twirled the hairs in his mustache for a second.

"That makes sense, Juan Carlos. But it sounds like you’re trying to play matchmaker with a married woman. And that leads to a road of disaster. How would you like it if someone was trying to fix Caroline up with one of her
