    Gangsta 2 - Vivian Blue

    Prologue

    Caroline

Things happened so quickly when I got back to Bakersfield. I was whisked off to Colima, Mexico where I became Mrs. Juan Carlos Munzo, and acquired stepchildren. I didn’t have time to put up a fight or try to get some leverage to push the wedding back. Juan Carlos was determined to get me under his total control. And he managed to pull it off. He had made the arrangements for our nuptials, and picked out my wedding dress, veil, shoes, and jewelry. I didn’t even get the opportunity to pick out my underwear. He did that, too! He had everything already planned out and ready to go. I guess he’d been planning our wedding for months, because everything was beautiful and I couldn’t have asked for a better setting. And the ceremony was breathtaking. In a way I felt a bit of relief because I was tired of running from Juan Carlos. I cared about him, so it was time for me to pull up my big girl panties and face the music.

My father met us in Colima… so I thought. But come to find out, he’d been there with Javier awaiting my arrival. Both Juan Carlos and Javier felt it would be best to keep my father under a close eye due to his ability to disappear when I ran to St. Louis. He had a twenty-four hour guard detail that kept a close eye on his every move. I wasn’t happy to see him at first, because he was the one who got us into this mess. But then I realized my mother was actually to blame, because she was the one who made the promise to Javier, not my father. Needless to say, he walked me down the aisle and it was one of the happiest moments of his life. I was marrying into one of the most powerful families in Colombia, Mexico, and all throughout the United States. Little did I know, the Munzo family connections were very deep down in St. Louis. It didn’t hit me until I saw Ashley and her husband Joe at my wedding, along with Joe’s father Levi. Come to find out, Levi was a very close friend of Juan Carlos. However, it explained why Joe came into the store and gave me a long line of questioning before I left to go back to Bakersfield.

I knew the thought came across people’s mind that I wasn’t going to go through the wedding without any protest or disruption. Truthfully, I thought about causing a big scene, but it would just cause me more problems than it was worth. Besides, Juan Carlos didn’t punish me for running off or for having a boyfriend while I was away. However, he reminded me of one of the things I loved so much about him… He made love to me for four straight hours. And I slept the rest of the day until he came to wake me, only so he could ravish me again.

I walked down the aisle in my beautiful, yet simple Gucci wedding dress. It was a straight white lace dress with long sleeves and a scoop neck. It had a long train that began at the top of my butt and flowed down to the floor and spanned out several feet. Juan Carlos insisted that I put on a wig to hide my pink Mohawk, because he was quite conservative and didn’t like my choice of hairstyle or color. I didn’t care what he thought or wanted because when I came out to walk down the aisle with my father, people’s jaws dropped when they saw my cotton candy colored hair; and I didn’t give a fuck. I had the hair stylist braid the back of my Mohawk up into a fancy braid that came up from my neck to the top of my head with some soft swoop bangs that swept across my forehead. The veil sat perfectly on my head, and when my father removed it from the front of my face, he smiled and made a comment on how proud he was of me for making a bold statement. I smiled warmly at him, because he was unaware of the other trick I had up my sleeve. I was determined to let Juan Carlos know that I wasn’t going to be controlled by him. That’s why I managed not to smile until they presented us as man and wife. That’s when I smiled showing my diamond incrusted grill that I had especially made for the occasion. I had diamonds on the Lateral incisors on my top teeth and a full grill on the bottom that sparkled brightly in the light. You should have seen the look on Juan Carlos’s face when he saw them. His sons thought it was the best part of my wedding ensemble, but the other adults felt a different way. Let’s just say he took me over to the side and fussed at me for making a mockery of this day. It didn’t matter to me because our wedding photos were priceless. It’s the cost he paid because I was forced into a marriage.

As the night went on and drinks were flowing, Juan Carlos managed to relax, and decided that he would forgive me for my actions. It might have helped that I told him I wasn’t going to have sex with him until he apologized for his mean and cruel words that he said to me earlier. He finally understood that it wasn’t fair for him to make all of the decisions for our special day, even though I was being difficult about getting married. I don’t know where this arranged marriage is headed, but I guess I’m in it for the long haul, because Juan Carlos made it perfectly clear that there is no such thing as divorce in his family. And the only way out is death!

W ell son, you managed to get Caroline back to California so that you could be wed. I’m sure her father is happy to be going back to the United States after his extended stay here in Mexico. Even though I think he’s found a woman who’s piqued his interest. And now you can work on giving me that granddaughter I so want you to have for me and your mother, said Javier as he puffed on his Cuban cigar.

I don’t know if Caroline is ready to take on a baby just yet, Papa. She has to get used to being married first. It’s not like she had any say so in any of this, I replied. The only reason why she came back to California is because a friend of hers got into a jam, and she needed some money to bond her out of jail.

But you knew where she was hiding, Javier replied. You could have gone to get her at any time, if you wanted too.

This is correct, but I felt it would be best for her to come back on her own free will. Te amo Caroline padre profundamente, y se que sus sentimientos no son lo mismo para mi. Creo que ella me ama, pero mato a su amante frente a ella. Y creo que trajo miedo mas que nada (I love Caroline deeply father, and I know her feelings aren’t quite the same for me. I think she loves me, but I killed her lover in front of her. And I think it brought more fear than anything). Javier laughed as he studied the weary look on his son’s face.

(Son, you will find your way. I have complete faith in you. It doesn’t matter if she loves you or not. And she should have the fear of God in her when it comes to you. You are her husband and she needs to respect you. Loyalty is the one thing that a wife must possess, especially in our line of business. You should have no problem putting a bullet in her head if she crosses you, Juan Carlos). I looked at my father and studied him. He was a very stern man that ruled with an iron fist. But sometimes he could be a softy when it came to the women he loved. If he felt this strongly about betrayal, why didn’t he put a bullet in Camelita’s head instead of making a deal with her?

I think Caroline has learned her lesson Papa. She wasn’t aware of how serious things were with me. She was just thrown into this situation without warning or preparation, I explained. It was a surprise to me that her father never told her that she was to marry me. Caroline found out at a car show she had attended with the same lover I told her to stay away from.

Excuse me, but Javier you have a visitor, said Luis one of his assistants.

    Who is it? asked Javier.

It’s Sergio Sanchez, sir, Luis replied. I stared out of the window at Caroline and my mother when I turned to face my father.

Me gustaria saber lo que quiere (I wonder what he wants), said Javier with a curious look on his face. Juan Carlos, could you excuse me for a moment.

Sure Papa, I replied. But are you sure you want to meet with him alone? Javier smiled.

I fear no one but God my son, so it is okay, Javier replied. Luis, please show him in. I left out of the library to give my father a few minutes with his old friend. I had a feeling I knew why Sergio was here, but one can never make an assumption about something they’re not too sure of.

Sergio… to what do I owe the pleasure? asked Javier as he got up to greet his friend.

Ah Javier, replied Sergio. He shook Javier’s hand and smiled. It is so good to see to see you, my old friend.

It is good to see you too. And what do I owe this pleasure? asked Javier.

You know my son Ricardo don’t you? asked Sergio.

Ah… I remember him from when he was a small boy. He’s the same age as Juan Carlos.

Nice to see you again, said Ricardo extending his hand. Javier shook it as he observed the stern look on Ricardo’s face. That right there let Javier know that this wasn’t a social visit.

Ahora que tenemos la familiaridad del camino. Que debo el placer? (Now that we have the familiarities out of the way. What do I owe the pleasure)? asked Javier.

I wish I could say it was under friendlier circumstances Javier, but it’s not…

Your son Juan Carlos killed my boy, interjected Ricardo. Javier smirked.

And do you have any evidence to support your accusation? I don’t take kindly to false statements made against me or my family, Javier replied.

Ricardo, dejame manejar esto ( let me handle this), snapped Sergio. As you can tell, he’s quite upset about the loss of his son. We haven’t been able to locate the body, and that is pretty much what we wanted. To get Hector’s body back so he can have a proper burial).

    I see, Javier replied. Luis!

Yes sir, said Luis as he walked forward. He stood at the door as a measure of protection just in case Javier’s visitors were hostile.

Would you go get my son for me.

Yes sir, said Luis as he grabbed his walkie talkie out of his pocket. He asked for Juan Carlos to be sent back to the library.

I think this is just a mere misunderstanding. Maybe someone falsely accused your son of such a thing, said Sergio as he wiped his mouth with a handkerchief. Javier smirked at the comment, because this was no misunderstanding. And knowing his son, Juan Carlos wasn’t going to back down to Sergio or anyone else for that matter.

I walked into the room studying everyone’s faces. My father had a nonchalant expression on his face while Sergio looked nervous and unsure, and his son Ricardo looked pissed. Ricardo and I had never seen eye to eye or got along when we were around each other for long periods of time. I believe his jealousy always clouded his opinion of me. Or, maybe it had something to do with the fact that he was in love with my beloved Camelia, and she chose to marry me instead of him.

Yes Papa, I said. I stood before all three men and looked at them nonchalantly.

Juan Carlos, there seems to be a misunderstanding between Sergio, Ricardo and you, Javier explained. They have reason to believe you had something to do with the disappearance of Ricardo’s son Hector. I told them that I thought they were mistaken, but I feel it was best if you explained your point of view on the situation. Fale livremente filho para meu relacionamento com Sergio nao tem merito ou valor. Nossos lacos foram quebrados ha muito tempo quando ele foi contra mim anos depois que seu avo morreu (Speak freely son for my relationship with Sergio has no merit or value. Our ties were long broken when he went against me years ago after your grandfather died). My father spoke to me in Portuguese, so I knew exactly what needed to be said. The Munzo family fears no man, woman or beast that walked the face of the Earth.

I think you killed my son because you both were screwing the same perra (bitch) and she liked Hector more, said Ricardo smugly. I was told that she worked temporarily at your company putting in a security system. I smiled at Ricardo, because he was well informed… a little too much.

Please refrain from calling my wife a bitch. I find it very disrespectful and offensive, I replied.

Is that all you have to say? asked Ricardo as he stared at me in disbelief. I smiled at him.

Yes, she worked briefly at Munzo Enterprises putting in a security system.

Why won’t you answer the important question, snapped Ricardo.

You keep dancing around the real question at hand, added Sergio.

Did you have something to do with my son’s disappearance you smug bastard? You couldn’t handle the fact that my son was a real man, and el sabia como satisfacer a su esposa al contrario que tu (he knew how to satisfy your wife unlike you). Both Ricardo and Sergio laughed as I slid my hands into my pocket. I walked over to Ricardo and stood in his face. I wanted him to see the sincerity in my eyes when I said my words.

It had nothing to do with skill, because my wife is well satisfied. However, she wasn’t familiar with the ways of the Munzo way of life. I told Hector to stay away from her because we were engaged, but all he wanted to do is talk about how he would satisfy my fiancée sexually. I guess he thought just like you… must be a Sanchez thing, I said as I looked back at my father and smirked.

What do you mean by that? asked Sergio.

It simply means that all you Sanchez’s seem to think with your dicks… and figure it’s all that’s needed to keep a woman. Maybe that’s all you have to offer a woman. As we both know Ricardo, that was not the case because Camelia chose me; and it had nothing to do with my dick, even though I satisfied her every need sexually. I think my current wife would agree. See, Hector was just a distraction for her because I was often busy handling business. Something you apparently know nothing about, that’s why your son worked for me. Oh! And I knew the only reason why he was around was to spy on me and my operations. So killing him for being disobedient and defiant against my words was just an added bonus, I said coyly as I smiled at Ricardo. His eyes widened and his face drew up into a scowl.

What did you just say to me? asked Ricardo in outrage.

You killed my grandson? asked Sergio.

"I sure did… and in front of my wife to prove a point. He was a pig who deserved to be eradicated for being
