    Club Extase Part 4 - E.J. Adams

    Chapter 1

    Rachel

Rob: Hey Rachel. How have u been? I'm moving back to NYC. I miss u like crazy. I was stupid to take a promotion in Dallas over staying with you. It may be too late for us, but I hope not. I'd love to see you. Maybe we can talk about picking up where we left off? Or start over? At least get together and discuss it? I hope you will say 'yes' to at least getting together.

    ***

I was able to focus enough to make it through brunch with Justin. If he suspected that something was wrong, he didn't let on. Despite an amazing night, and morning, with Justin, Rob's text had thrown me for a loop.

Justin dropped me off at my building. We shared a nice kiss in the taxi before I hopped out. He was meeting his brothers for a Knicks game at Madison Square Garden. I was relieved that he had plans. I needed some time to think.

I knew Megan wasn't home from her brunch with Zack yet. I had texted her my plans and she replied she'd be home about a half hour after me. I was glad that Frank, my doorman, was helping another resident. I didn't want any possible comments about my night with Justin.

When I got to my apartment, I plopped down on the couch. I opened my message from Rob. I read the text over and over. I became fixated on what I was taking as key parts of his message.

    I'm moving back to NYC.

    I miss u like crazy.

Maybe we can talk about picking up where we left off?

    Or start over?

I hadn't replied yet. I knew that I needed to. Even if I responded with a polite 'no,' I figured it would be inconsiderate to ignore him.

Granted, he chose to effectively leave me when he accepted his promotion in Dallas. But I was the one who wasn't ready to live together or consider a move to stay together. Neither seemed unreasonable of me at the time.

Still not unreasonable, I thought. I liked Rob a lot. He was, is, a great guy. I could have seen a future with him. Could I still consider the possibility of a future with him? Was that possibility greater than what I might find with Justin?

Ugh! I let out a grunt of frustration.

I heard a key in the lock and then Megan opened the door.

Hey, Rache, she called as she entered our apartment.

You are not going to believe the twenty-four hours that I've had, I said.

    Other than sleeping with Justin?

    Yes.

Do tell, Megan said as she flopped on the couch next to me.

My mind flashed to Justin and I having sex for the first time on the very spot where Megan and I were sitting.

How about something to drink? I asked.

    Sure.

Let's sit at the kitchen table, I offered.

Um, okay, said Megan, looking a little perplexed.

Justin and I had sex on the couch last night, I confessed.

Megan jumped up. You cleaned it, right?

Yes. I just prefer to not be sitting in the very spot where we did the deed so soon after the fact, I replied.

I'm good with that decision, Megan said as she went to the kitchen table.

I poured us each a glass of juice and we sat at the kitchen table.

Okay, Megan said after we were seated. So you and Justin had sex on the couch. What else happened?

Well, we had incredible sex on the couch. And then in my bed two more times last night. And then again for an hour this morning. I lost count of the number of orgasms that I had through all of it. Needless to say, Justin is an amazing lover.

You're skipping over how you ended up having sex with him. Dinner must have gone very well.

Actually, no. Dinner was a complete bust. Not the meal itself. Bouley's is incredible. But the conversation part. The date ended at dinner.

So how did you end having such incredible sex with him?

    Let me finish, I said.

"He called me and was very apologetic. He had been doing some thinking and had a heart-to-heart with his oldest brother. He practically begged me to meet him to talk. I agreed. We had a very revealing conversation at Starbucks. It was enough to convince
