    A Warlock Plots Revenge

    Chapter 1

    Time has marched On...

Several Earth years have passed since Ivy Green awoke amidst some really peculiar people, in a curiously strange place.  Before arriving in the Glen, she had always thought of herself as an orphan who was a foundling and raised by a kindly older lady she knew only as Mother Posey.  As an orphan, she had to make her own way in the world. She felt she was doing well on her own.  Before everything she knew changed in her life, she was under the impression she was a 25-year-old human girl with a life she had worked hard for.  She stood at 5 foot 5 inches with a decent figure for her height.  She was a blond with long hair that was close to white.  In fact, she had always felt that her hair was her greatest feature and as such, she took great care of it.  She had a job that she loved, a couple of very dear and special friends, a very nice bank account for a single gal, an extremely sweet little paid for condo and one loyal dog that she was never completely sure it was a dog.  It had adopted her, not the other way around.  He was just at her door one day, and tender heart that she is, she let it in and it has never left.

She was on her normal lunch break, headed to her favorite food truck for lunch.  She was so predictable that they knew what to have ready for her on what given day, fixed exactly as she liked it.  She had skipped breakfast, having forgotten to set her alarm, again.  She felt like she was starving!  She knew the trucks locations weekly as well as they knew her favorites.  Having over-slept, she hadn’t had time for her usual routine, so she missed the weather report.  This caused her to be completely un-prepared for the clouds promising rain.  Weighing the odds, she felt she could make it there and back with maybe just a misting if she was quick about it.  She pushed open the building door and walked out into the day.  Turning left, she headed off to the truck’s location on 17th Street, South.  With-in minutes of stepping out of her office building, it began misting.  She wasn’t really concerned, but did step up her pace.  Reaching the truck finally, it was closed.  The sign in the window said, "Closed due to Weather."  She had no choice but to return to work and grab a candy bar, chips or just something from the machine in the break room, if it worked.  Making matters worse, still starving it began to raining in earnest, quickly soaking her through.  Rushing along, she heard then smelled the ozone of a lightning strike.  She never heard the exploding crack of thunder following the lighting.  She thought it had struck somewhere near her to knock her down.

We now all know Ivy’s story, but I will re-cap it for you.  Upon awaking after the trauma of being struck by lightning, she was about to receive yet more shocks and surprises.

She learned she was of Fairy, or Fey decent.  And not just any Fey family either.  She was a long lost Royal Fey Princess.  Ivy was also able to alert the Glen, or rather Honeysuckle of the location of their long-lost Queen, her Mother.  Honeysuckle had the then Mother Posy returned to the Glen.  However, once the Trackers brought her through one of their secret portals, she passed out for a few days.  But her re-entry alerted her Sister, Jimson.  When Mother Posy woke, Honeysuckle and her Druid friend Shamus helped to finish clearing her mind.  The Queen knew what she needed to do and it’s what she should have done long before.  The Queen pulled in all her friends and called on their combined powers and they completely banished Jimson into a different plane of existence, permanently.

When the Queen regained herself, the spells holding against her husband and her daughter were instantly broken.  The Green Man was given back his life and kingdom and the King returned to his right life and kingdom.  It was a little harder on Ivy.  She hadn’t known the Fey world, having been removed as an infant and just returning.  It knocked her out for 10 minutes.  When she opened her eyes again, all things looked different.  She was now fully a Royal Fey.  Her wings were glorious in size and color.  She can do magic and glamour’s.  She is smaller than when she arrived and was a near copy of her beautiful Mother.

Honeysuckle held a mirror up to Ivy.  Looking in it, she asked who the lovely creature in the mirror was?  She heard giggles around her, but saw no one.  Honeysuckle answered Ivy’s question, Dearie, it is you!  Before Ivy could speak, her Mothers face appeared over her shoulder, in the mirror.  Ivy gasped!  She looked almost exactly like her Mother and she was shocked!  Wrapping her arms around her daughter, she tells her she had a lot to learn of Fey and the Court.

Ivy was then put on a fast track of learning.  She had training in Royal Conduct and protocols, court manners, proper dining etiquette, Proper Court Speech, dancing lessons, flying lessons, Magic lessons including spells, warding, glamour’s, and many other Royal abilities.  Even with her new Royal powers, she still found herself over-whelmed many times.  But her Mother was always there to help her figure out her problems.  She dined each night with her parents, getting to know them.  This gave her parents a chance to know her also.  It was at once such dinner that Ivy learned her Mother planned on announcing her as her Heir in the future.  The Queen was waiting for Ivy to be comfortable with Court Functions first.  Ivy learned they would host a formal dinner for all the heads of all the Kingdoms in Gilley Glen.  Her Mother explained that the Glen need to know their Haven was safe for them again, and a new ruler slated for their continued future.  She also learned of the Formal Ball to follow the formal dinner.  Now that, she could look forward too.  Who didn’t like a party!  She learned she would have two different dresses for the night.  The Queen took care of all the planning.  Ivy stayed with her classes until the Queen said otherwise.

Her parents had been very busy lately attending to all the things that had piled up during their absence. This had put a temporary halt to their private dinners together.  Therefore, she was surprised to receive a message from the Queen requesting she join them for dinner.  She gave the Page her answer and went back to her spell studies.

She was looking forward to dining with her parents again.  She found she really liked them and enjoyed being with them.  During the meal, the Queen let Ivy know that each and every one of her teachers had given her glowing reports.  She had excelled in
