About this ebook
O.M.G.!!! Something Merry continues the series in Book Five
God is coming for Christmas and Heaven is in Chaos.
A.M. is worried (his job is on the line) and his secretary, Rosemary is inundated trying to help the Angels and Witches solve the problems of shrunken band uniforms, a possible kidnapping, no mistletoe to be found anywhere and trees that keep evaporating.
Not to mention the giggling Heavenly Cherub Choir members on sugar highs, and an unannounced visitor from Middle Earth. The Weyward Witches are called upon to assist and Hamish McTavish and his A.D.D.(Auxiliary Detective Division) agents with heightened security hopefully have the situation well-in-hand.
Christmas will never be the same. Stay tuned…

A cloud of smoke Description automatically generatedCHAPTER ONE
ROSEMARY!
Archangel Michael (Code name A.M.) screamed into the inter-office widgie, ROSEMARY!
he screamed again even louder.
Rosemary, his lovely, soft-spoken, over-worked administrative assistant/secretary/dogsbody could have heard him even if she was in the loo. She chanted her well-used mantra,
’I love my job. I love my job. I love my job,’
which was wearing thin the last few weeks. Inhaling deeply, she pushed the inter-widgie button and replied, in her soft, melodious voice, Yes, Sir?
Bring your ATablet!
he moaned into the screen. We have another crisis!
Rosemary rose from her seat behind her desk and smoothed down her new robe. She had made it several weeks ago and decided today would be a good day to show it off. It was her birthday.
The dusty rose fabric hung delicately from her shoulders, bringing a touch of subtle color to her pretty face. She patted her honey blonde curls into place, pasted on a smile, picked up her ATablet, a stylus, and floated into A. M.’s office closing the door gently behind her.
She stood at the front of his desk and waited for him to speak first. (Protocol)
A.M. sighed and glanced up from the piles of papers scattered on his desk. Rosemary noticed the lines of tiredness around his eyes which hadn’t been there before, and her heart went out to him. His responsibilities were overwhelming and lately there had been crisis after crisis.
Rosemary, this one really is going to stretch our forbearance.
Oh, it can’t be that bad, Sir, we have handled everything so far,
Rosemary replied, trying to be positive, and done a good job of it too!
she added, hoping to dispel some of the gloom A.M. was feeling.
This may be a little more challenging!
A.M. muttered more to himself than to her.
OH?
Rosemary replied. She had never heard that tone in his voice. What can be that challenging?
and as an afterthought said, Sir?
You had better sit down for this,
and he motioned her to the nearest chair.
Rosemary floated and sat, tablet in hand wondering what could be so devastating? They had always worked well together and handled anything that was dropped on their desks. They were a good team.
She briefly remembered an incident a few months ago, when Archangel Gabriel had accidently shot an arrow at A. M. and he couldn’t sit down for several weeks, they had had angry words then, their first argument. Even though she had quit, and he had fired her, they still managed to put their individual differences aside for the good of the Angelic Kingdom. They were still together, working as a team.
It was during that incident when A.M. was in the seminary recuperating that Rosemary discovered she was in love with A. M., really in love, and vowed that he would never know. Several of her friends had had the misfortune of falling in love with their bosses, and the results were sad, very sad.
The ones she knew about were asked to leave their positions and had not been able to find new ones. No one would hire them because of that indiscretion. She would not let that happen to her. Besides, she worked for Archangel Michael, the CEO of Heaven. She trembled to think of the repercussions. How could I have been so foolish?
Rosemary, you’re not listening.
A.M. admonished her for the second time. ‘She was day-dreaming again. What could she possibly have to daydream about?’
He noticed the new robe she was wearing and thought the color was pleasant. It made her look, well,—different. He was having trouble staying focused on the mountains of work sitting on his desk. Instead, he was thinking of her, and it wasn’t work related.
Last night, as he prepared for sleep, he wondered about her personal life.
Did she have a boyfriend? Impossible, he thought, she works such erratic hours, she doesn’t have time for that romantic stuff, or does she? Besides she isn’t a young girl in her first flush of youth anymore. When she first came to work for me, her work skills were and still are excellent, she was mature and sensible, not some flighty adolescent angel with false eyelashes, always fiddling with their clothes and hair. That was why I’d hired her. I didn’t want the distractions of a younger angel trying to get my attention, rearranging their hair, or always displaying dramatics. Rosemary is—a perfect professional. Yes, I like that description, it suits her.
With that thought, he fluffed his cloud pillow, pulled the covers over his head, and closed his eyes for sleep, only to slap the covers away. Sleep was avoiding him at the moment. He sat up impatiently and pushed his pillow behind his back mindful not to crush his enormous wings. His thoughts ran on and he was unable to stop them, nor did he wish to. I will handle this as I do all other situations within the Kingdom: with logic and reason and sense.
We have worked together for years, now, and she always greets me serenely first thing in the morning when we begin our day. She has never lost her poise,
