Just One Night: The Cashmere Chronicles Book Two

About this ebook
“Like I said...tequila + music = Fun Georgia. Job? What job? No clothes for tomorrow? Who cares! Makeup, toothbrush? Who cares! Where are we going? Who cares! I look at my boss, and he’s staring at me with the proudest look on his face. He’s so much fun to work with, somehow professionalism is a blurry line with us.”
While Georgia and the new hire Sophie both have friends that are quickly becoming much more than that, will Gray be left just to fantasize about Daniel or will she also make the jump?

Sophie
My eyes open to see the sun-streaked courtyard outside of my apartment window. Laying here tangled in the Egyptian cotton sheet, I debate just staying in bed all day and avoiding the office, the unanswered calls from my mother, and reality in general. The alarm clock goes off for a second time and I decide it’s time to drag my ass out of bed.
Fuck. It’s only Wednesday.
My aching head immediately dismisses the argument that I am not hungover, it’s obvious the 4th glass of wine was a mistake. Standing in the bathroom I assess how to tame my long blonde curly hair and decide it’s a ponytail day. I wash my face and add some makeup. Glancing in the full-length mirror I take in my long thin frame, realizing I may be headed for too thin. It’s time to search my tiny closet I search for an outfit that will cover up the mess that I have become.
At 9:05 a.m. I arrive at the office
. It’s Georgia’s guest house and serves its purpose well. The tile on my business card politely reads Social Media Manager but I feel more like their Social Media Bitch. I really don’t really care though because I just took the job until I stumble across something better on posted on the yoga studio bulletin board.
Georgia & Gray, two forty-something women, have started this lifestyle media agency to create VIP weekends centered around music and highlight ways to live like a VIP every day, all through their website NoChairZone.com. It’s actually a cool concept, Never too old for a music festival
, but I try to hide that I actually care. I mumble hello to Georgia as I pass her in the kitchen and walk back to my empty desk in the corner. Georgia is already perfectly dressed in her expensive jeans and black cotton tank. I hope at 40 my skin is that smooth and healthy.
So here I am on my little landing pad in the world of media madness. Mostly I just explain how technology works and post random crap on their Instagram feed. Today should be slightly more interesting because Hot Daniel
the photographer is coming by to drop off proofs from the last shoot. I have watched him work the camera at several VIP parties and local shows. This city seems to have a concert every night and Daniel always shoots the big talent. I think I started buying front row tickets just to see Daniel’s biceps in action. Or his ass, which is a nice view also.
Going to a show every night was a different time in my life, back when I had money in my bank account before my dad cut me off, and I had a wedding ring on my finger. I look down at my hand resting on the keyboard and admire its clean smooth naked skin, happy to be back again without that piece of jewelry.
It was 26 months ago that I walked down the aisle to say I do
to a guy I did not love. I hoped that a new last name and a joint bank account would somehow make my life work
