How to Love - A. I. Abana
INTRODUCTION
W
ouldn’t it be nice if the world was much more peaceful; much more serene, and if everyone were caring? Imagine how wonderful it would be if there were no more wars, hostilities or animus of any kind.
The aforementioned ills are birthed and sustained in a dearth of love. The atrocious spinoffs of a world devoid of love are better imaged than experienced, ditto a life that neither acknowledges nor shows love.
The words love
and life
are intricately woven such that a life is as wonderful as it is shrouded in love. It’s sad to note however, that the reality in the world as we know it is to the contrary and not everyone walks in or appreciates love. This isn’t hard to fathom, the killings and debauchery with which the world is rife is proof enough that many of those who now inhabit the earth could use more love. A loveless life is a catastrophe, and a loveless people are a hopeless lot.
It’s also sad to note that even those who are privy to this truth sometimes come short of doing the needful—to show love. It’s also possible to find those who despite their best intentions simply do not know how to go about walking in love.
As inundated as today’s world is with information, much of it is sadly not useful to the end that it fosters or inculcates more love in the lives of those who consume the same, what rather obtains is violence, debauchery, obscenity and the like.
It is pertinent that people know how to walk in love. There is it appears a balance involved in living the love life and it’s just as possible for people to love the wrong things as it is for them to be deficient in love altogether.
This disquisition is an effort at helping people imbibe, improve and attain a good balance in their love walk. I believe that many a person does what they do because they lack a balanced, well-informed policy direction or because they have been ill-instructed so.
This book is written to help people to understand and hopefully live out the positive love life they ought to be living or had wanted to live but for some constrain were not able to.
You may be feeling damaged or hurt by virtue of unsavory circumstances but I believe no matter how hurt, embarrassed or disappointed you may feel, if you’re alive and lucid, you can have and express love to other people. The love walk is doable, liveable and a most honorable possibility.
Through the chapters of this book you will encounter the details of some things which entail love. Some you may find familiar, others may come across as not so easy, regardless, by the end of the book you should have a good grasp of just how you may imbibe, exude and live a positive love life.
If there is a greater virtue than love, it remains to be found, if there is anything more powerful, anything more beautiful, anything more pleasant than love … it remains to be known. A life and a heart full of love are yours to have, read on to find out how.
CHAPTER ONE
UNDERSTANDING THE SUBJECT
Y
ou can’t love nothing, can you? To show love, an object, item or entity which is to be loved is required; something which or someone who is the focus of the love is necessary. Imagine love as it were a rope or a chord which ties things together. This cord can wrap around or bundle just one thing—as in the case of a person who only loves themselves, or it can be used to tie two or more entities
