About this ebook

Understanding that the privilege of life comes with the lack of immunity to life's lessons is the first step in mastering self, the outside world, the behaviour of people who live in it. Our truth creates and defines an order that guides us on how best we can respond to the adventure of both the internal and external world, and how to find balance and harmony in both the heaven and hell that recites within us. Even if the world would classify you as a failure, the inner world must sing your praises and forever choose you, always. When the world has defined you, only your truth will maintain your definition of self. Even when the world chooses a lane where you must travel, only your knowledge and acceptance of self will determine which lane is perfect for your journey. When the world tells you who you should be, only the order you have created in your life will tell the world who you are and how you want to be treated. When you are content with self, your stars won't just align, your stars will shine brighter at the sight of your shadow.   Uncaged Souls is a philosophical memoir/collection of insights blending elements from diverse traditional social norms and personal convictions through personal will and observation, the fun part being the conscious admission that no one is wrong or right when the one speaks their truth.

Un-Caged Souls - Classic age Publishing

    To be here...

    Insight: 1

The world is selling perfection; illusions and dreams. The question is, 'Are you buying?

    Insight: 2

Some people cannot be replaced no matter how many relations you create  in order to escape  what no longer serve you. The person with whom you share yourself, all your thoughts and ideas with is irreplaceable. You might remove them from your life but you cannot delete their chapter in your life story. Trying to delete the chapter they featured in, in your life, is the same as trying to unlearn the lessons their existence has taught you. The same lessons that prepared and ushered you to the next level of your life. Those lessons have contributed to your growth as a person. Recognize and respect that.

    Insight: 3

There is more of what we should be sending to the cleaner, our contagious mental infections. Our energy infects those around us so bad that we find nothing wrong with ill-treating those we come in contact with. Our kids do as we do and believe our wrong as the only right. If this society we live in is to be conducive for all who live in it, then it is our duty and priority to help create that conducive society. The earthly Elysium we dream and speak of is not going to miraculously create itself.

    Insight: 4

Do not be afraid to seek you. Do not be apologetic about who you find. Do not deny you a chance to be a light that you are. All the mental, spiritual and emotional roller coasters are the roads we travel that leads us home. Back to self. Indulge in finest conversations with yourself and awaken the God in you.

    Insight: 5

We refuse to turn off our computers, turn off our phones, log off from various social media platforms, and just sit in silence. We subconsciously refuse to listen to ourselves, to listen to what our body is telling us. We do not want to focus on what the mind is digesting and what the soul is trying to communicate. Maybe we are just afraid that somewhere in that moment of silence, we might actually have to face up to who we really are. That one person we have been too terrified to be, someone we refused to be.

    Insight: 6

If you are weak emotionally and mentally, people mistreat you. If you are strong, people will bail on you because you are too much to handle. Still, that is not enough reason for you to pretend to be someone you are not in order to be accepted by others. Your face they can forget, it is ok. Let your voice and words stay with them until eternity. They do not have to like nor accept you, they just have to know and feel your presence.

    Insight: 7

When chaos erupts and things fall apart, your first instinct should be to take it easy and relax. Think about poetry, think good music or whatever helps you escape the pain of this cruel yet beautiful world. Do not let your soul get accustomed to tolerating lifeless spaces. Your soul needs natural surrounding where it is able to dance to the music made by the poetry that lives deep within the dusty corners of your soul. Find a quiet corner in the middle of chaos and listen to what you are saying to yourself. The voice inside is never quiet, even when you are deaf you can hear it. In the middle of the storm we do not un-cage nor unleash self into chaos, we remain grounded and firm.

    Insight: 8

When it rains, we dance and cleanse our souls in the spirit carried by the rain. Thy will be done on earth (so below), as it is done in heaven (as above).  Light will only find us when we understand this truth and order of existence. The light in us will resurrect and illuminate our lives, when this truth is finally understood and becomes the centre of our spiritual awakening and alignment.

    Insight: 9

The best thing you can ever do for yourself, despite all the mistakes you have made, is to never convince anyone that you are worthy of their love and appreciation. It is always best to be with those who want to be with you, those who choose you.

    Insight: 10

At times love is hard but yet has the power to bring you to yourself when you least expect it. Love can force you to be your knight in shining armour, your rescuer and your own messiah. Only then you face yourself in your truest form, vulnerable and fragile with no defense. No makeup, no good hair day, any excuses but a mere broken heart, teary eyes and a longing you wish you never had. Do not run away from a chance to rearrange pieces of your broken heart. Do not avoid a chance to embrace your brokenness and create the self you have always wanted to become.

    Insight: 11

The mind must be unleashed, the soul un-caged and the universe be explored.  This is the liberation that ushers you to a lifelong adventure of frequencies, vibrations and energies

    Insight: 12

The most dangerous thing we could ever do as black people, is to become the enemy we are trying to defeat. By accidentally taking the character of the enemy in pursuit of our liberation. Do not be so obsessed with destroying a monster that you end up being a monster you are trying to annihilate.

    Insight: 13

You see, some people do not think you need a shoulder to cry on nor need support. All they see in you is an answer to their problems. Just because you love fixing, you find yourself being used by people who will never even in a blue moon, be there when you need someone to provide a shoulder to lean on. They have turned you into a Fixer. You are a crisis centre, a disaster management centre of some sort. As long as you know that they might not be there for you when you need them, you will be ok. In the meantime learn the art of being  self-reliant and self-sufficient. Just in case.

    Insight: 14

Little white lies destroy beautiful colourful things like clouds covering a beautiful rainbow.  Have we ever wondered why our people resort to extreme measures for power, recognition and attention? To an extent that they resort to killing others, just to impose their non-existent relevance. Just to exercise their external power and authority over others, especially those who are less fortunate. When you are self-assured you do not have to lie
