1. HE IS EMPTY

He burns inside. The fire that enrages him had burnt everything inside him yet he tries to keep it hidden from the world but it is eating him slowly every day.

He steps out of his BMW stuffing his hands in pockets trying to keep him from feeling the agony and hurt. He knows how crumbled he is inside but on the outside, he carries a facade. He has shown to the world that he is strong and nothing can break Murtuza Alam Khan but inside he is empty.

He takes long eager strides as they give away his impatience but deep inside his conscience screams that he is deluding himself again. Although, he had been doing this from last three years as he had tried his level best to search for her but every time when he receives the news of her whereabouts, he would reach that place the same day only to face disappointments. However, he has tried every possible effort to find her but she had vanished. She has disappeared making her existence a question that bothers Murtuza.

He waits for the elevator to descend on the expected floor as he taps his feet nervously. This moment had arrived thousand times in the last three years and he wondered what he is going to say? Should he apologize? Murtuza knew that he never apologize to anyone but with years he has softened inside as he realizes that ego didn't lead him anywhere.

As usual, he mentally prepares his speech and how to convince her but deep down he knows that she is the most adamant lady he had ever met. A smile creeps his face at the thought of seeing her in front of him as his insides squirm and his body burns. He has dreamt about meeting her face to face thousands of times but it never happens in reality.

The elevator doors slide open as he eagerly scans the lobby for the room. It is 606. Murtuza takes a few more steps and when he is in front of the door, he actually panics. Still, he is not ready for this moment as the past flashes in his mind because Murtuza takes pride in his justice and honor but he had failed her. He punished her for something she didn't commit and this realization was devastating as he has lost the most precious thing of his life.

Murtuza Alam Khan is the eldest son of Alam Family which is one of the biggest political families in Uttar Pradesh. Murtuza's father Saeed Alam Khan is the prestigious and honorable MLA as he desired Murtuza to join politics but he preferred to take up business and flourished well in his career. In fact, he had studied his MBA from the UK but returned to India to build his career and stay with his family so he started with Alam Resorts and in no time there were few in India with his father's name and reputation.

He still remembers seeing her for the first time. However, she was an ordinary girl dressed in simple plain kurta and leggings but something about her makes him throw a second glance. Even though Murtuza had seen and dated many beautiful, rich and exotic girls but nobody got into his heart but this girl's simplicity and uniqueness seeped in as he enjoyed seeing her every day. She was like a butterfly fascinating him with her charm but deep down Murtuza knew that she had no place in his sophisticated life.

He had disappointed his family by opting for a different career yet he agreed for an alliance from a political family convincing him but now her charm and presence made him question his decisions. Time went by and Murtuza decides to step beyond as he proposed marriage and carried on with his nikah ceremony in a local masjid as she entered his life and that moment made his heart swell.

The hardest moment was introducing her to his family. Two weeks later he brought his wife home and the news didn't go well with the family. His only support at home was his mother who welcomed her at least and accepted her as a part of his family.

From that day Mehrosh Siddiqui became dearer to him than his own life. Her smiles occupied his mornings and his evenings ended in giggles. He loved him so much that he felt that the love just flowed in his veins for her but Mehrosh struggled with intimacy and he co-operated to his best but couldn't resist her for long. He sensed her uncertainty when they consummated their marriage but hoped that she will be comfortable soon but that never happened.

This new exotic life was no less than a challenge for Mehrosh who struggled with her lifestyle and wardrobe as he guided her patiently. Even though he adored her simplicity but at times she had to be in public eye and need to pretend to be exotic. Mehrosh was never good at facades and somehow embarrassed the family as Murtuza felt sorry for putting her in trouble. Moreover, he knew she was trying but failed at times and Murtuza was around to support her apart from her shoulder to cry on.

They had spent 6 blissful months together but one unfortunate day everything crumbled. The girl he loved so deeply was accused of being linked to a terrorist organization and she became a part of this family with an evil motive but Mehrosh continued to protest and plead her innocence. The proofs they presented confused Murtuza because he didn't know what to believe anymore. For a moment he felt that everything came collapsing down and his sane mind stopped functioning.
