Part 1

Michael walked into the throne room, his steps echoing off the gold laced marble walls. The golden doors closed behind him. Lucifer and Gabriel stood before the throne. The Father sat on the throne with the Son and Holy Spirit standing on either side of him.

Michael walked to the throne and kneeled. You called me Father?

Yes, said the Father as he stroked his white beard. We were just waiting for you. I wanted to explain what I want the three of you to do.

Michael stood.

What took you so long? asked Lucifer as he pushed a flock of blond hair behind his ear.

I came here as soon as I was called, answered Michael.

Where were you? asked Gabriel.

It doesn’t matter, said Michael.

Was it the forest? asked Lucifer. No, that’s Gabriel thing.

The water, said Gabriel.

Michael shot Gabriel an angry look.

That’s right, said Lucifer as he smiled. You like the lake.

Yes, said Michael. I was at the lake.

You know, there are other areas you can explore, said Lucifer. Have you ever been to the Hall of Records yet?

Yes I’ve been to the Hall of Records, said Michael.

I think Lucifer means if you’ve been back to the Hall of Records, said Gabriel. How many times have you been there since we visited it for the first time.

I haven’t been back there since, said Michael.

Lucifer stifled his laughter.

There’s no water in the Hall, said Michael. I like wetting my feet.

The Son smiled. I understand the feeling. I like the water too.

It would be a good idea to visit the Hall, said the Holy Spirit.
