A chapel made

The time drags on until I see

his eyes that smile warmly at me

I cannot wait till end of day

to let him know I love his way

Delight in life’s sweet twist of fate

that opened up love’s portal gate

I whisper in the morning sun

that in my heart we two are one

It’s time for celebration

as we see each other’s light

the joy that I am feeling

came with such pure delight

You came to me in friendship

you offered it with care

I was consumed by heartache

yet you were always there

A gentle, quiet persistence

a long term goal indeed

you coped with my resistance

and did not speak your need

And yet I feel your caring

in the tenderness of your touch

the hours we are sharing

are giving me so much

I know that we will learn

from each other what we must

and recognize if you still yearn

in me you can trust

I am a friend and lover

and someone you can call

if you’re alone and need to talk
