ABOUT THE AUTHOR

(ELOIS WILFORM-MALCOLM)

Elois Wilform-Malcolm was born in 1946 in McConnells, SC and was raised in York, SC where she spent her childhood. She departed this life surrounded by her immediate family on July 25, 2013. She graduated from Jefferson High School in York, SC before moving on to New York City where she resided for 36 years while raising two beautiful Daughters, Valerie and Enid. She relocated to Charlotte, NC in 2001. She was lead to Rockwell AME Zion Church where she served as President of the Deaconess Board, a Trustee Board Member and a member of many other organizations affiliated with the AME Zion North Carolina District. She wrote daily meditations so others could grow spiritually. Fate would have it that she and her Co-Author would unite in marriage after 40+years of not knowing each other’s whereabouts. She proudly stated she was most certain that he was the one God kept for her and soon realized he was the Love of her life. These are meditations she wrote prior to death. Her spiritual wisdom and attainment of knowledge through the study of the word of God far outweigh the experience of many of your prominent writers.

(WESLEY J. MALCOLM)

Wesley J. Malcolm was born in Simsboro, La. in 1947 with early awareness to the value of knowing God. After graduating from Grambling High School, he served 4 years in the USAF receiving an Honorable Discharge. He attained an Associate Degree in Business Management from Monroe College in New York City. He is the Author of : Humble Obedience Leverages Your Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth published in 2009 focusing on those things that are Just, Right, and True in the sight of God. He has reviewed, edited and is now publishing these meditations as a dedication to his beloved wife, the Author, Elois Wilform-Malcolm.

TESTIMONIAL FROM CO-AUTHOR

It would be negligent and neglectful of me if I did not express to ALL the remarkable woman, person that my departed wife, Elois Wilform-Malcolm, was. Although short-lived, being married to her put me in the place or state in life that I so desperately sought: Joy, Happiness, Contentment, and Peace of Mind. Because of her inspirational and encouraging meditations, I remain in that state.

Lois, the Author, and I came to know each other over 40 years ago. We both worked at the same major financial institution in New York City where we were work colleagues and soon became friends. We shared in conversation about life in general and by doing so we came to realize that our views on life and living were very similar. I came to know her as a very humble, sincere, honest and caring person.

As our corporate worlds evolved for the both of us, God’s plans would relocate me to another state(s) (Florida/Colorado) while she remained in New York City. True friends are friends forever and I can truly say she/we were true friends as you will see as my testimonial unfolds. While living in Florida and eventually on to Colorado, as with anyone, you may occasionally have thoughts on those who crossed your path from your past. Whenever I reflected on friendships, Lois would certainly come across my thought, if not but for a fleeting moment. I had no inclinations during these fleeting moments of thought that she and I would be joined together in marriage, especially so with no communication to each other after my relocation.

As seasons come and seasons go, God’s plans will prevail. When I wrote my first book (Humble Obedience Leverages Your Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth . . . note: titled derived from Holy Bible) some 40+ years from our departure from each other, I sought out individuals in my mind as the catalyst/connection to promote my book and make known to others. Of course, true friends come to mind in ventures such as these. As fate would have it, I was able to connect with her again.

As we got into discussions with relationship to the genre of my book (spiritually inspirational) and of course catching ourselves up with the who, what, when where and how of the last 40+ years of our lives, we again began to realize how similar our views were own life and living. Most important of all, we realized how we shared a common bond with God. When I gave her awareness of my book she, in turn, made me aware of how she daily wrote meditations with Scripture as the basis for their content. Soon as I began to read them, I saw so much wisdom and knowledge in what she was saying and trying to convey. I immediately began to encourage her on the value of putting these in published format for others to benefit from her insightfulness about a life with God.

As the season was right for both of us, we soon begin to realize that we shared a Kindred Spirit that would transcend into a wonderful and magnificent LOVE relationship. Emphasis on love is the cornerstone for all of her writings. Our friendship stood the test of time and our ensuing love for each other came at the right time and that was in God’s time. When love is true and genuine, the beauty of it is so wonderful, unconditional and unexplainable. I will forever give praise to God for her having been in my life. The genuineness and respect that we shared for each other brought about complete fulfillment in our lives. She showed herself to be a strong woman of God. Her soul was truly anchored in the Lord.

We were married on September 29, 2012 with the theme of our Unity together being . . . YOU and ME!! God has purpose in everything that he does. Sometimes we cannot see or even understand that purpose but when you are rooted and anchored in Christ we do know that his WILL for our lives will be done. In October 2012, she was diagnosed with stage IV Cancer. We had visions of so many fun times together with God being first and foremost as the head of our life.

Before her diagnosis, we were in the infancy stages of collaborating on putting her meditations into a published document. However, as her illness progressed, my focus changed to complete CARE for her. We were both convinced that God brought our lives together such that there would be that someone in her life who really and truly LOVED her to take CARE of her as His plans for her life would prevail. During the course of her illness, she never lost faith in God and her will and her belief never wavered. She was a very STRONG, AWESOME, INCREDIBLE and AMAZING lady. She did not need to be adorned or showered with symbolic gifts to let her know that she was loved because she herself was a symbol of love just by the person she was. I consider myself as being blessed to have been a part of her life for the short time we did have together. She encouraged me, supported me and motivated me to be the best I could be. Her faith in God strengthened my faith.

On July 25, 2013, God saw fit to call her home to be with Him. I know she is there with Him glorifying and praising His name as she so diligently did while here on earth (Halleluiah, Praise God).

As a means of keeping her memory, her legacy alive; I decided to continue with the project we started together by bringing this work (Meditations on Life and Living . . . Born Out of Love for God) to publication as a dedication to her labors and love for God and her fellowman. In each of these writings, she planted the seed (content, facts, ideas, thoughts, substance) while I have now cultivated the soil (context, grammar, structure and flow). We, she and I, present these Inspirational Meditations to you with love from Christ and love for you the reader. We sincerely hope they will touch your heart, mind, body and soul. So, open the door to your heart and allow the word of God to filtrate your every being.

Although she left me before WE could begin the pursuit and publication of this Meditation book; she was, however, aware of our efforts and initiatives to complete this project. Once She was diagnosed with Cancer, our focus was on her getting well and thus this project was put on hold.

As a token of love and appreciation for the life WE shared together and the endless memories of Her; this book of Meditations that She wrote are done so in dedication to her love for Christ, her love for me, her love for her daughters and her love for her Family.

A SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO MY WIFE/MY BABY

THERE ARE 3 EMOTIONS WE CAN EXPERIENCE FROM LOVING: JOY, PAIN, AND GRIEF.

• WE EXPERIENCE JOY WHEN LOVE LOVES.

• WE EXPERIENCE PAIN WHEN LOVE HURTS.

• WE EXPERIENCE GRIEF WHEN LOVE LEAVES US.

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH EITHER OF THESE EMOTIONS.

• JOY . . . IS A FEELING OF GREAT HAPPINESS, A STATE OR SOURCE OF CONTENTMENT OR SATISFACTION.

• PAIN . . . IS THE UNPLEASANT FEELING OF DISTRESS OR SUFFERING OF THE MIND.

• GRIEF . . . . IS DEEP SADNESS OR MENTAL DISTRESS CAUSED BY A LOSS, REMORSE, OR BREAVEMENT.

WE DO NOT STAY IN A CONSTANT STATE OF JOY OR PAIN OR GRIEF. NOW ISN’T ALL OF THESE A REMINDER THAT GOD IS IN CHARGE AND HE DOES NOT PUT ANY MORE ON US THAN WE CAN BEAR.

GOD HAS TWO (2) GARDENS; THIS EARTHLY GARDEN AND HIS HEAVENLY GARDEN. CONSIDER WE ARE ALL FLOWERS HERE ON EARTH BEING NUTRUED BY GOD. THERE COMES A TIME WHEN HE NEEDS TO PLUCK A FLOWER FROM HIS EARTHLY GARDEN TO FURTHER BEAUTIFY HIS HEAVENLY GARDEN.

AS HUMAN BEINGS, WE WILL GET SICK. GOD HAS GIVEN US GIFTS (IE . . . DOCTORS, PHARMARCISTS AND MEDICINES). THESE GIFTS PROVIDE US WITH THE MEANS TO TAKE THE SICKNESS OUT OF US. WHEN THESE GIFTS CAN NO LONGER DO WHAT THEY WERE PUT HERE TO DO, THEN IT IS TIME FOR GOD TO TAKE US OUT OF THE SICKNESS.

MY WIFE, LOIS WAS ONE OF GOD’S SPECIAL FLOWERS HERE ON EARTH. SHE WAS A ROSE, A CARNATION, A LILLIE AND A FORGET ME NOT ALL IN ONE. SHE WAS CARING, GIVING AND FULL OF LIFE. SHE INSPIRED ME, MOTIVATED ME AND LET ME KNOW IN SO MANY WAYS THAT I WAS LOVED BY HER.

BABY!!! I LOVED YOU TOO. AS THE NIGHTS COME I WILL FOREVER LOOK UP AT THE STARS OR FLOWERS THAT SURROUND HEAVEN AND PICK YOU OUT AMONGST ALL THE OTHER FLOWERS THAT BEAUTIFY HEAVEN BECAUSE I KNOW YOU WILL BE LOOKING DOWN ON ME, WATCHING OUT FOR ME, LOVING ME AS YOU ALWAYS HAVE DONE IN OUR LIFE HERE ON EARTH.

THE ONE ATTRIBUTE THAT SETS US APART FROM OTHERS, REGARDLESS OF WHAT SKILLS OR TALENTS WE MAY POSSESS, IS OUR CHARACTER. CHARACTER IS NOT A GIFT AS IS OUR TALENTS. THUS, GOOD CHARACTER SHOULD BE PRAISED MORE SO THAN OUR OUTSTANDING TALENTS.

MY BABY POSSESED GOOD CHARACTER ALONG WITH ALL THE FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT: LOVE JOY, PEACE, PATIENCE, KINDNESS, GOODNESS, FAITHFULNESS, GENTLENESS AND SELF-CONTROL. AS ONE OF HER DEAR DEACONESS FRIENDS PUT IT IN ONE OF OUR SUNDAY SCHOOL CLASSES . . . SHE WORE THE FRAGRANCE OF CHRIST.

THE LASTING DESCRIPTION I CAN GIVE YOU OF MY BABY, LOIS, CAN BE SUMMED UP WITH REFERENCE TO I CORINTHIANS 13: 4-7 BY SUBSTITUTING THE NAME LOIS FOR THE WORD LOVE:

LOIS IS PATIENT, LOIS IS KIND, SHE DOES NOT ENVY, SHE DOES NOT BOAST, SHE IN NOT EASILY ANGERED, AND SHE KEEPS NO RECORD OF WRONG. LOIS DOES NOT DELIGHT IN EVIL BUT REJOICES WITH THE TRUTH. SHE ALWAYS PROTECTS, ALWAYS TRUSTS, ALWAYS HOPES, AND ALWAYS PERSEVERES!!

BABY, YOUR MEMORY AND MY LOVE FOR YOU WILL BE FOREVER CHERRISHED AND EMBEDED WITHIN MY EVERY BEING . . .

AS MUCH AS I WILL MISS YOU, I GET CONSOLATION IN KNOWING THAT GOD WILL GREET YOU!!!!

A SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO MY MOTHER

Since you’ve been gone if I heard it once, I heard it a thousand times: I have never met anyone like your mother! You were, and continue to be, a blessing to all who were a part of your life whether for a reason, season or lifetime. I know as a person you are and will always be second to no other person I know.

It comes as no surprise we realize the diamond we were given from GOD was you; who could only come from HIS greatest blessing to us. As your daughter, I am at peace with all the wonderful memories we shared together. I know your legacy will be forever a part of who I am as a mother, wife, sister, friend, mentor, supporter, leader, missionary, counselor, God-fearing woman, dreamer, teacher, and the list goes on. I also miss you calling me and introducing me as your 1st born and my dear sister, Enid, Baby girl.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I love you, I love you, I love you! I want the world to know you embodied everything that Christ is and wants all of us to be. You were all this without even trying because that was simply your DNA from our Creator. Your mission was accomplished on earth-His will was done. And although we don’t understand why now, we will trust in the Lord because of you!!!

We look forward to seeing your sweet spirit smiling face again mommy-as now I see you in my dreams and every morning I say good morning to you. I find I cannot start my day without talking to your pictures. How funny you never liked taking pictures, yet the ones you never wanted to take . . . . are the ones I will treasure the most! Thanks for your love and teaching me ‘Children Learn What They Live."

You lived your life with such Purpose, Positivity, Presence, Passion, Peace and Power. It is my hope that this book of daily meditations along with the special dedications from your beloved husband-our step dad, and of course, your daughters, will touch the lives of all who thirst to live in such a way you lived. We promise to make you proud as we journey through this life until we see you again in Heaven.

My Daily Prayer Mom Since You’re Gone

As I Walk Through this Grieving Sand . . . Will you hold my hand? Will you place it on your heart? Will you let me know from me you will never depart? Lord I make a plea more than ever before; My faith my flesh crumbling more than ever-please restore!

No man or woman can I explain to understand, my daily struggle as I walk through my grieving sand. Thank you for all You placed in my path; My dreams are hopeful this sadness will pass.

Another day is a day I know I’ll feel low. Please uplift my spirit Lord, Show me your purpose everyday . . . so I can live for Mom and stay on GO!

Your 1st born loves and misses you tremendously. You will always be the Wind beneath my wings.

A SPECIAL TRIBUTE TO MY MOTHER

My Mother was a woman of honor, integrity, and virtue. She would stand by you right or wrong. However, if you were wrong, she would be giving you an earful standing beside you in only the loving way she knew how. She would never make you feel small or belittled, but always expecting greater things from you, as she would remind you that you were a child of the Most High God. At the same time she would make right whatever was wrong, if it was in her power to do so, and helped make every one of my dreams come true. She always saw the best in me and lifted me. She had a way about her of making you see things more clearly. Doesn’t this sound familiar? For this is how our Father in Heaven loves us.

If you needed to hear the truth, she was always there to provide it to you raw and uncut. This loving vessel brought so much joy and warmth to my life. Oh, how I wish children of the world who are longing for this type of love could have met her. Then, would they see a glimpse of our Father in Heaven’s love for us. She was just that for all who knew and came in contact with her. I know love because of her and I am thankful everyday to God for giving me to her. Each day with her was a gift and I will always be grateful to Him.

She is now in glory still shinning her love into my life. When I feel lonely or weak and my world gets a little dim, I can hear her whisper-You Are Not Alone—softly in my ear. She continues to inspire me and the world I know is a better place just because she was my Mom. The faith I have in God continues to grow because her life was a reflection of God. Everything that I am is because God saw fit for her to be my Mom.

Mom, I love and miss you every minute of the day. I long for the day to see you again, but until that time . . . . . .
