Maj Wambebe is a poet, writer, editor, and entrepreneur. With a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Abuja, Nigeria and a postgraduate degree in Journalism with emphasis on Professional Writing from the University of Oklahoma, USA, Maj is passionate about written representations of the human condition with a view to humour, inspire and educate readers. He has worked for several years as a columnist and editor both in the States and Nigeria where he helps runs two business ventures. He is a member of several writers associations including The Writers’ Forum in the UK. In his spare time, Maj loves jogging, playing scrabble, and watching movies. He is currently based in London with his wife and two children.

TRUE FRIEND
If friendship had eyes, it would see your big heart from the skies,
If friendship had ears, it would hear of your kindness and cares,
If friendship had lips, it would say you’re one in a million keeps,
If friendship had hands, it would point you out to all lands,
If friendship had feet, it would stand by you, rain, snow, or sleet,
If friendship had a soul, it would appreciate you from piece to whole.
SIN
A thousand shades of darkness is upon me,
I am yet to die to self,
My habit has now become my habitat,
My routine breeds more attitude and less gatitude,
I break fast with the very evils I create,
I have dinner with the nightmares of misfortune,
Why me, why not me, becomes the endless query,
Imposed damnation is almost guaranteed,
The only way to stand now is to kneel,
Head bowed and hands raised, Lord have mercy on my rotten soul, I
