ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
First and foremost I would love to thank God, without whom this book would not exist. Words fail me each time I wish to express what and how I feel about Him, the love that I feel for Him, how grateful I am for all that He has done and continues to do for me. I am consoled though by the fact that He knows my heart.
Secondly, I would love to thank my facebook friends. This is where this project started. Dealing with different personalities from different backgrounds can never be easy but because God is in it, He saw me through it. In 2011, I suddenly had this strong persistent inner voice, instructing me to join facebook. When I couldn’t ignore Him anymore, I knew it was God, I acted upon it. I find myself sharing life lessons, motivating, giving advice, and learning a lot in return. Only a year later did I realise that I was actually working on one of God’s assignments He has planned for me, this particular book.
I would also love to thank my son, Linda. His presence in my life has always given me the strength to carry on through all my trials and tribulations. I love you son.
Last but not least, the wonderful woman with a heart of gold who raised me Gogo Majozi ( RIP ). I shall be forever grateful to her and to God for choosing such a special gift for me.
CHAPTER 1
My Personal Experience And Relationship With God
1. Father God, Almighty God, open our spiritual eyes and renew our minds and help us to be more sensitive to the Holy Spirit. We need to know who and how you are, Father. We need to know that you’re a loving and magnificent god who loves all his children regardless of their race, creed, religion, gender, and sexual orientation. Fill us, Father, with your love. For if we are filled with your love, there’s no way we would judge and harm and hurt others in any way. We need you, Father. The world is in tatters because we don’t love one another. The world would be a much better place if only we could love one another. We need you, God. Amen.
2. I’m not sure exactly what’s going on with me, but what I’m sure of is that something is going on with me. There’s a prayer by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. that has resonated with me for quite some time now; and for some reason, I would recite it day and night, every day, long before I accepted Christ as my Lord and Savior. The situations, big or small, don’t seem to end, and there’s always a lesson in every situation, and I find myself sharing these lessons.
This was the prayer:
Use me, God
Show me how to take who I am
Who I want to be
What I can do And use it for a purpose greater than myself. Amen.
Now I’m not sure if God is answering me or what. Question is, did I even understand what this prayer actually meant and the depth of it?
3. Before I formed you in the womb I knew you,
Before you were born I set you apart;
I appointed you as a prophet to the nations.
(Jeremiah 1:5, NIV)
4. 26. Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.
27. But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong;
28. God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things—and the things that are not—to nullify the things that are,
29. so that no one may boast before him.
(1 Corinthians 1:26-29) NIV.
5. Stop telling me there is no God
Stop telling me I’m crazy
Stop telling me I’m a fool
