About this ebook
Angelica Spaulding
I am writing this book to help those out there who have been hurt by those that are supposed to protect us. Growing up was never easy. I grew up in a dysfunctional family with divorced parents. My siblings and I sufferered abuse, neglect, and hurt through out the years. Sometimes we feel alone, abandoned, and worthless and that is why I wrote this book. I want you to know that you are not alone and what happened to you was not your fault. It was the monster that hurt you. Everthing happens for a reason and I believe God wanted these things to happen so I could have empathy and compassion for others like me. My biggest goal in life is to help people. I am a mother of 2 beautiful boys. I am going to school for an associates degree in Counceling. My husband is currently serving in Active Duty Army. If you get anything out of my book I hope that is forgiveness, not for the monster that hurt you; but for yourself. I would like you to remember this quote "it's not the past that creates your future. It's what you do with your past that creates your character." I am also the Author of Tears Of My Shadow a tool used for healing..

Ow my head… Where am I?
drowsily she looked around. She didn’t know where she was, what had happened to her, or who did this to her. All she did know was she was in a vehicle driving on what looked like and abandoned road. She tried to scream out but she couldn’t, her mouth was so parched to the point that she could only whisper. She looked down and couldn’t believe what she says; bruised arms and her hands were tightly bound. She started crying; trying to think of who would do this to her. Then she looked up, and then he looked at her through the mirror. She crouched down on the seat and bawled. She knew that all too familiar face; that scraggly beard, those deep piercing brown eyes, those strong hands that fought her every time. All she could think was that she didn’t want to get hurt again by her father. That she would fight with every strength left in her body against him. She didn’t understand it. She started to shake with the fear, with the realization that the person driving the car was her father. He had told her time and time again that he wanted to tie her up and do whatever he wanted to her, that she wouldn’t be able to stop him. The car came to a stop and Katherine shook and whimpered even harder. Before the door opened she managed to see where they were. The house had been there for many years, abandoned and desolate. There was an awkward familiarity that Katherine couldn’t pin point. The windows were all smashed, moss covered the roof and the house leaned. A big oak tree grew too close to the house and it looked like a terrible storm went through the area crashing the oak into the roof. Just as a flock of birds flew away, she realized where she was, why that house was so familiar. The memories swelled her with happiness. For that brief moment, she lost herself in those memories, engulfed her very soul in the very being of the house. Every summer she stayed with her grandpa; this was his house, her only sanctuary. The only place that no one could hurt her, or so she thought. She wished her grandpa was there now holding her and the sun shining, pushing the sorrow and fear out of her heart warming her soul, and letting her know everything was going to be ok. Katherine ached all over just to see her grandfather. His death crushed her; he had passed when she was only ten years old. The safety of that memory escaped when the door opened. Reality slapped her in the face again. She tried to kick and scream but he had also tied up her legs. He took his whole body weight and pressed it on Katherine and then he cut the rope wrapped around her legs. He was faster and much stronger than she was pushing his way in between her legs. He took the knife he used to cut the rope to her, amused that he had taken what he wanted. Katherine was so terrified when she heard him say,
If you don’t do what I want I am going to cut you open. Make you bleed out and leave you here to die.
And at that moment her scream woke her up. Unfortunately, Katherine always had that dream; even at twenty years old she was petrified to fall asleep. Terrified her dad would come after her yet again.

Do you swear to tell the whole truth, nothing but the truth so help you God?
I do.
Could you tell us your name?
