About this ebook
Allen Levin
My first venture in to publishing is a collection of poetry writings that I have done recently. I want to share my words in hopes that they will help others either get through a tough time or find inspiration to progress life to the next level. The time I went through in my life that inspired these writings was a very hard time. I was forced to look deep within and learn what makes me tick. And while this might not be a traditional poetry book I believe that with the words in this book being backed by true emotion they can offer something for everybody. I currently reside in the state of Washington and love the PNW.

About the author:
While not a writer by trade, I use poetry to release emotions as my own therapy. I feel there can be true power in words and even more so when true emotion is behind them. I get my inspiration from the life that I have lived and the lessons I learned.
Title inspiration:
When I was a kid I would chop wood every summer with my dad so that we would have wood for the winter. I remember asking him one summer if he played football, he said yes and I then told him I wanted to play. I asked him what I would have to do to get strong enough to play and he handed me an axe and said, Chop the wood.
It was about working hard for what you wanted; I wanted to play football so I had to do the work. I look back at this conversation with my Dad whenever I come to a challenging time and know that work needs to be done.
Dedication:
This book is written from real life and the writings are backed with real emotion. My book is not necessarily traditional poetry and it is inspired by my own journey, what I went through, how I processed my lessons and evolved because of it. As you read the poems in this book you will find writings of pain and dark times, feelings on love, astounding strength and symbolisms for life. My hope is that my poems can help others get through a tough time or provide hope and inspiration in times of adversity.
