Myra Hudson
Myra Hudson has a passion for at-risk youth and all those with mental illness. This passion has led her to take a keen interest in starting her own program to combat the violence that’s destroying our youth and those with mental illness. If she can save at least one person, it will serve as one of her big accomplishments. Myra is a strong African-American woman who keeps a smile in the midst of good and bad times. She’s practical, realistic, optimistic, compassionate, independent, a self-starter, a hard worker and a perfectionist. As an adolescent and a young adult, she overcame many obstacles in her life. She turned her negative experiences into positive messages and experiences that will render hope and encouragement for other adults, youth, and the community. At age twenty-one, she accepted Christ into her life. She put God, her children, and others before herself. She has a big heart in lending a helping hand to others. Myra proudly recognizes her accomplishments: becoming an author, mommy, wife, licensed certified nursing assistant, pediatric care assistant, certified medical assistant, business woman, advocate for children, completing training with the Parent Leadership Training Institute, community volunteer, customer service coordinator, motivational speaker, former director of a youth and recreation center and a former department manager for a department store. She also won the runner-up for the Laura Robey Award in grade school for displaying “Exemplary Character and Attitude.”

A Mommy's Love - Myra Hudson
To a Mommy Aged to Perfection, from a Daughter
For those who do not know Mommy, here is a description of her. Mommy is a beautiful, warm-hearted woman who loves to help and bring others together, especially our at-risk youth. In fact, she wants to establish a program for youth who suffer with low self-esteem, identity crisis, a lack of guidance, and more. The purpose for Mommy’s program is to bring unity among the youth so that there will be a stronger us.
Mommy is the oldest of four sisters, whom she helped raise. As a teenager, Mommy experienced adulthood at age seventeen, when she had her first child—increasing responsibilities while building her character. Even though Mommy felt she was all alone from time to time, I would like to give thanks to her mother, who is my grandmother, for giving birth to a wonderful mommy of three. Other close relatives cared for and nurtured Mommy throughout her adolescence years. That is what made her the mommy that she is today. Stay tuned; there is more to come on Mommy’s
