Ancient Truth Collides with a Modern Heresy: The Spirit of the Republic Calls to the Soul of a Nation.
()
About this ebook
This study presents a challenging wake-up call to Christians and all Americans who cherish our unique republic and our precious faith and freedoms. We find ourselves under a full assault from ancient heresies and modern doctrines of devils, and we must pull the mask off the false gods of environmental and creation worship.
Dean E Neff Jr.
There is nothing special about me. Like countless millions before me, I have grown up in a world where trials and failures, along with great successes, fill each and every one of our lives. Raised in a big family of eight children, my life has been anything but boring. I haven't written countless books before, so I can' dazzle you with an impressive list of past authored works. Nor can I offer you a list of PHD's- and other culturally accepted credentials. What I can offer about myself is that I am what redemption and grace and mercy are all about! Our wonderful Lord God, through the Apostle Paul, let's all of us know that no matter whatever way we have transgressed in this world, against God, against others, no matter how many times we have sinned, the mercy and grace by Christ Jesus is there for all. Paul saw himself as the chief of sinners. I think that speaking for myself, of course, I would have been a close second! Photo-finish! Lives, minds, and hearts are changed when one comes with sincerity to the throne of Grace of Almighty God. But me, I am just a man that by the teaching and mercy of God, I am constrained to speak out and do that which has been laid out before me. I hope you read this book with an open mind to begin again, the common sense thinking that the Creator of Life has given each and every one of us. " For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." 2Tim.1:7 Dean E. Neff Jr.

Introduction
A ll of us come from somewhere. We all have a place that at one time we called home. It’s where we have our roots. Pretty profound, huh? Being a man over the age of fifty, I have experienced many wonderful times in my life just as most have. I have also been acquainted with sorrow and many bad times as well. Growing up, like all of us, I had what was considered some not-so-easy times. I remember being continuously informed by my father that it was of utmost importance that I understood where I came from and who I was. Pretty impressive as well, huh? My father, who was quite the excellent lawyer, like many dads in the 50s and 60s, had many faults, as do the rest of us. One of the lighter ones was that he believed that if he repeated himself way too many times to count, we kids would understand what he was trying to tell us. I must have been the slow one. If I heard a story about our ancestors once, I heard it a thousand times. It’s funny but true. I really did hear it a thousand times! I remember many summer vacations spent walking through old cemeteries, looking at gravestones for some obscure family name.
Many days we would search for a link in a name to our family’s past, a link that would verify something for my dad, information that someone had handed down to him, information that would confirm what he was looking for. What a fun vacation! Fun for whom? Being young and coming from the best sports town in the world, I was always dreaming of playing in the Super Bowl or the World Series or the NBA Championship, so for me spending quite a few summer vacations amidst the bugs and the mosquitoes, not to mention the spooky cemeteries, was not what a young man like myself thought was fun. Oh, well. I learned early on that life wouldn’t always go my way.
Years passed. We grew up, and everyone went out to do and be whatever they dreamed of. That was a part of growing up in America that I will always cherish. Anyone could imagine and dream and go out and really do whatever their hard work and God-given talent allowed. The sky really was the limit in those days. Some went on to great success. Some got into trouble like me, and still others have led normal lives. One thing never changed. My dad was still blasting me with the family tree almost every time we got together. On one such occasion he gave me his copy of the Mayflower Society Registry book, which of course had my dad’s name in it. He informed me then that you can’t be a member unless you can prove that you had an ancestor on the boat.
Well, guess what? There really was a reason for all the summer vacations meandering through old spooky cemeteries! There it was in black and white, my name written in the Mayflower Society Register.
Being named after my dad (as a junior), it was pretty cool to understand that our family went all the way back to 1620 America. Wow. Pilgrims in the New World! My ancestors! Many more years passed, and as I became more acquainted with my Bible and our wonderful Savior (whom I really needed), I came to view the Mayflower thing as probably not as impressing to God, though very cool and interesting. And for me it appealed more to a vain glory sort of pride, which lessened the importance in the eternal scheme of things. It didn’t engender the pride and the more American than you
attitude in me it once had.
What it did do for me though was make me understand that my ancestors were pilgrims, Puritans who believed in the same God as I do, men and women who came here for the express purpose of establishing a colony of free people to freely worship the Lord God and to freely grow as a community of believers. That’s what stuck. That’s what still sticks! It’s in my blood. The thirst for liberty and the thirst to worship freely is who I am!
My country ’tis of thee … sweet land of liberty … of thee I sing … Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty
(2 Corinthians 3:17).
I have always been aroused and sometimes consumed by politics. What was happening in our world and in our country, especially in Washington, DC, seems to have always garnered my attention. Like many others, I have been a news junkie for many years. While I was living in a few different cities at different times in my life, strangely I always found a way to stay in touch with national as well as local happenings and events. Many letters to the editor have appeared in many different newspapers across the country. While that always satisfied my thirst to get people to see my point of view, it seems to have not had the impact I dreamed it would. Pretty silly.
Much in our country and our world has changed since those strange days after 9/11. So many different kinds of distractions and events have seemingly gotten our country whirling, unable to get a handle on everything that keeps happening. We saw the giant snowball begin its journey downhill, and it’s been speeding up ever since.
Shortly after the 9/11 attacks our country seemed to experience a miniature revival of sorts. Churches saw a upward spike in attendance. The US Congress, Republicans and Democrats were united against a common enemy. A sense of nationalistic pride and a seeming return to our roots was taking place. It was all so very historic and all so very short-lived.
What happened? A united country standing together ready for the fight, an upsurge in church attendance, even the mainstream media was commenting on the power of a united America. Again … what happened? That was the shortest national revival in history!
Not very many days hence what we did see was an all-out attempt to quell any antagonism toward Muslims and Islam in general and sell the country on the notion that Islam was a religion of peace (which it is not, but more on that later). Almost immediately following the few days of a united congress and country against this common enemy and a return to church, our former president George Bush was telling the country that we should not overreact and that again Islam is a religion of peace.
In record time congress, which just a few days earlier was standing together, could not have been more divided. From Hollywood to the mainstream press to the Democrats in congress, all of them were now engaged in an all-out attack on George Bush and the Republicans and not-so-obvious … Christianity!
The country was no longer united in the fact that we had a common enemy, and apparently the message that was coming from the pulpits wasn’t bringing anyone back—the fastest descent from nationalistic revival of all time. Then as if to appear out of thin air like a ghost, we in America were now to blame! Where did all the it was our fault
ideology come from? How could it be that we were to blame? The enemies of America were now in full-blown readiness and eager to pounce. Pounce they did. We witnessed the second greatest international sales job to date. Muslims worldwide were pleading with the West, saying that what we and they both needed was more dialogue and more exchanges of cultural information and more opportunities to learn about each other. Then we could learn to respect each other and coexist and—
That’s a big part of what happened. The country was gearing up for war, and the international world was begging for restraint. One need only to examine and inspect what has transpired since those days, and we will find that nothing has changed with Islam! It is still insisting that we in the West are evil and corrupt and are to blame. It is still insisting that we are at fault for our continued support of the nation of Israel. It is still demanding that we respect their cultural practices right here at home in America, and they are still funding and continuing on with their suicide bombings. What’s changed? For them absolutely nothing, but for us everything.
We now have to provide places for these pagans to wash their feet. We now have to intercede for many children of Muslims who want to embrace Christianity in America and try to protect them from their murderous parents. We now have growing communities in places like Michigan, where they are demanding a respect for this outrage Sharia law. I ask again, "What has happened since the days of an united America against a common enemy? A lot!
This is a very grave development for our country. But this was only the beginnings of grave trouble for America … and a great distraction.
There is another very grave development that is much more subtle and, dare I say, much more dangerous than the obvious threat posed by the misguided Muslim religion. And that is environmentalism.
Watching the news over the next few years brought out a different extremism, one quite different than extremist Islam. I was listening to people from all corners of the political spectrum and all corners of the world. From the Pope to the US Congress, from the communist leader of Russia to the Aussies Down Under. The warnings went out all over the world—warnings of this new disaster, this new common enemy and very real threat to the world, namely man-made global warming! Our own congressmen began talking more and more about this enemy, which, if left unattended, would wipe out all of mankind and destroy the futures of people all over the world.
I heard various polling results of Christian religious organizations showing that most Christians and people in the country believed in this phenomena known as man-made global warming/climate change. Nancy Pelosi emerged from various meetings in which she declared that the evangelicals demand that we be good stewards of our environment and address this fast-emerging enemy!
Then it happened. Like a ton of bricks hitting you out of your chair, it hit me and about knocked me over. What exactly was it that hit me?
That’s what these one-worlders and these evil workers are doing!
So that’s why there’s this relentless attack on America and her economic might! Aha! So that’s why there’s this new assault on our Christian faith!
Eureka!
The Devil is in the details, as they say. There is after all a Devil, isn’t there?
The burden became too much for me to bear. I had to tell—no, I had to scream from the rooftops (if necessary) to all of those Americans out there and especially to all of those Christians and anyone else who claims to believe in God and warn them to look out!
Here it comes. The bad guys are sneaking in through the back door! Look out!
So with that short introduction, let me begin with what it is I want my fellow Christians to be aware of and warn them of. Along the way, I want to grab the attention of as many Americans as I can. The evil of which I speak is one that has made the often spoken grand appearance in sheep’s clothing! Wow. It really does work that way! In fact, this wolf has found a way to garner and gather a coalition of every enemy that the United States of America could imagine. It literally attacked from left field. Are we in a very bad movie? Is this a nightmare we can’t wake up from?
We are all familiar with the saying, Have your cake and eat it to,
are we
