He married his high school sweetheart, Martha Aligaz, in 1982. As an outgrowth of his experience in the church, he moved to Olathe, Kansas, where he earned a degree in church music from MidAmerica Nazarene University. Later, he earned an MBA degree from Pittsburg State University. He is the founder of Bethel Music Ministry and lives in Overland Park, Kansas, with his family.view less
