    Preface

Dogs are sometimes described as little people with fur, and that description forms a warm, cuddly picture in our minds. While it is a nice sentiment, it diminishes how wonderful dogs really are! I think dogs are special agents—furry angels with wagging tails—sent by God to show us His own characteristics! It is no accident that the letters in the word God are the same letters in the word dog, just in a different order.

Dogs remind us that one of God’s enduring characteristics is His faithfulness. A good dog will stick by us no matter what. Dogs love us unconditionally, as does God. God has promised never to leave us nor forsake us; dogs have been known to stay with an injured person for days until help arrived. God is omniscient, and dogs can almost read our minds. They sense when we are depressed or unhappy or don’t feel well. I’ve had dogs that communicated, It’s OK, Mom. I’m here, when I most needed a friend. The bible says that God sticks closer than a brother, and a good friend loves at all times. The bible also says, A merry heart does good like a medicine. Most dogs have merry hearts. As you read about my dogs, rearrange the letters and see a description of my God, and remember, dogs really are furry angels with wagging tails.
