    Chapter 1

    Little Lola, a Bugg

My name is Lola, and I live with my new family on Hilola, a street in Coconut Grove, Florida. It’s nice living on a street that says hello to you every day. Put Hi before your name and see what it’s like. Hmmm, . . . Hiemma, Himatthew, Hianna, Hijames . . . yes, it’s fun, and I think Hilola is a cool street name.

    Who I love

    Who loves me

    What I like

    What I’m afraid of

    What is good for me

    What is bad for me

    What makes me sad

Why I had 5 families, and

    Where I am now

At the end of my story, I hope you will smile and say, Lola is a very lucky girl.

Pugs have existed for hundreds and hundreds of years and were the favorite dogs of many kings and queens. Pugs are loving and playful, however, they can get their feelings hurt if spoken to harshly. I feel sad if someone yells at me, and, once in awhile, I
